JabriLLL "Ghost" Peppers (New England Patriots)

Although Peppers is a very talented recruit, I am strangely unconcerned about him selecting the skunkbears. Maybe its because most of the hype is about him is how he has a college ready body right now. Sometime the kids like that have already reached their ceiling.

Not really. The Cooper Era ended in 2000 when Peppers was 5-6 years old. Tressel came aboard in 2001 and beat Michigan right off the bat and we've dominated the series 10-2 since then. Essentially, we've owned Michigan since Peppers was in kindergarten or first grade. The "Cooper years" had absolute zilch to do with Peppers' decision.

Nursery school is a very dangerous age, when kids can be seduced by "wings", without a refined appreciation for "tough nuts".

Very nice pickup for UM. Not sure what the all the underscoring of this is, but recruiting is all about potential and this young man has about as much as any player in the country. Great pick-up by them, would have loved to have him in the S&G but best of luck to him except for the last regular season game in November.

It's nice to have jabrill, but if he's your only shutdown corner, then you're gonna have some serious problems I the spread. ScUM has little depth at cb, hes gonna have a hard timeof trying to do everything in that secondary. The spread has neutralized having one shutdown cb now. Osu's depth at cb and our recruiting of the position have put us in a better position

Michigan would be wasting this kid's talent if he only played corner. They'll want him on the field as much as possible.

The skunkbears finally have two recruits in this cycle that legit scare me (Peppers, Harris). I would not have said that about any of their prior two classes under Hoke, though he did a good job recruiting good talent in the trenches.

maybe I'm a homer here, but I'm pretty excited about Dymonte Thomas as a recruit. Very explosive athlete with great top end speed and size, he could probably play some RB and return kicks and punts. At the close of spring Greg Mattison said that Dymonte is the starting nickel, a job he beat out a junior Courtney Avery for.

Dymonte isn't on the same stratosphere as Jabrill. In Peppers, you are talking about a legit gamebreaker similar to Ted Ginn, if Michigan uses him right. That isn't to say that Thomas won't be a very good safety, but I won't lose any sleep thinking about how Meyer is going to gameplan for him. Jabrill Peppers is that dude though.

The homer in me disagees. Dymonte has similar size and speed to Peppers. Peppers has a little better size and a little better speed, but DT is definitely extremely fast with very good size to boot. Great, great athlete.

Peppers is probably running in the 4.3's, DT in the 4.4's. Both are over 6-1 and close to 200 pounds.

Good thing for us speed is overrated then.

you need to get over that already.

For a receiver, it definitely is. Defensive back or running back is more about raw athletic ability. As a receiver if you can't run routes properly, get the playbook down, catch the ball in traffic or catch the ball with defenders around you, what good does speed do you? Mike Williams and Dwayne Jarrett of USC were two of the most dominating college WR's that I have seen of the past 10 years. Both were slow as dirt.

Cris Carter says hi. Former Buckeye great and is one of the top 5 WR's in NFL history and his speed was, well let's just say not that good.

Enjoy.

A few of the Michigan commits have told me Jabrill Peppers has mentioned UCLA as a school he would like to see.
"I am still 100% committed to the University of Michigan and that is the place where I want to go to college."
"With the rumors about Coach Hoke possibly not being there I need to make sure that I have options and have seen other places." - Peppers
"For the sake of my future I need to make sure I have other options. No need to look into it any further. Go Blue and beat TDS." - Peppers
