JabriLLL "Ghost" Peppers (New England Patriots)

The longer this drags out, the better off OSU is imo. Another stellar season and a *likely down season for scUM helps our cause. Not saying it will be enough to tip the scales, but it would certainly help.

according to Steve Witflong, one of the main national guys at 247 this won't drag out that long. Peppers is taking a visit to Stanford sometime this summer and right now it's down to Michigan and Stanford. If Stanford doesn't live up to what he saw at Michigan, a decision could come shortly after an official to Michigan for the Notre Dame game under the lights.

Michigan will also be much better than you think. Wouldn't expect an 8-5 season so fast if I were you. The schedule gets much easier and there is no way anybody will convince me that Kyle Kalis talent-wise isn't an upgrade over Patrick Omameh at RG or that Ben Braden talent-wise isn't an upgrade over Ricky Barnum at LG.

Those two may be young, but they are not short on talent or size, and both were physically ready to play last season as true freshman and both look like they have NFL futures, whereas Omameh and Barnum clearly have no NFL future. At the tackles they have a pair of very large fifth year seniors who have started a lot of games in Lewan and Schofield. The biggest question mark for the line will be how Jack Miller, a RS Sophomore settles in at center.

RB situation isn't settled yet but Fitzgerald Toussaint should be healthy by the fall and Derrick Green and DeVeon Smith are physically ready to contribute and both will get a shot to move up the depth chart at RB and I am definitely expecting one of them to make a move to be the #2 guy behind Fitz.

Bellomy getting injured hurts depth at QB obviously, but if anybody saw the kid actually play in the two games he did they'd notice his atrocious Nick Sheridan like noodle arm and they'd know there was no way in heck he'd hold off the much more talented Morris for 2nd string anyways.

The coaches aren't convinced Kalis is an upgrade over his competitor. Back to Peppers.

Jebrill Peppers breaks NJ state record in 200m. Peppers just set the county 200m time. Could be the best corner out of HS in more than a decade. All info points to scUM. But with Kerry Coombs recruiting him, you never know. Hope we land him. Probably would've been the #1 corner in last year's loaded CB class. I can't believe Scout thinks there are 3 other corners ahead of him in this year's class. No way.
Football isn't the only sport that Jabrill Peppers dominates.

The Paramus Catholic (N.J.) star set the New Jersey state record Friday in the 200-meter dash by clocking an impressive time of 20.79 seconds, which is No.5 in the nation according to NJ.com. He broke the record by .14 seconds.

Peppers, a junior now, was a MaxPreps Junior All-American last season and his commitment is one of mystery when comes to football. He was the MaxPreps Freshman of the Year and the MaxPreps Sophomore of the Year at Don Bosco Prep, so there's certainly a feeding frenzy now for the Paramus Catholic star.

Peppers rushed for 1,552 yards last season in addition to 18 touchdowns. He averaged 9.02 yards per carry and also snagged five touchdown passes out of the backfield.

Ohio State not even in his top 4. Looks Michigan bound and he'll be a stud there. Fortunately CB isn't the most influential position on the field, but I bet Hoke will attempt to get the ball in his hands on returns, some offense.

We'll see. It's May of his junior year. A lot can happen between now and February, especially if he doesn't give an early commitment. I'd like to think we'd be one of his official visits if he were to take them.

With his teammate already committed, this is about as foregone as conclusions get. Sorry to say.

Michigan - the Harvard of the West, the Alabama of the North. What will we poor Buckeye fans do?

Hoke just straight out-recruited folks on this one. Hats off to him. Peppers is the kind of guy that can elevate a good program to a great one.

Without a doubt Peppers is a great player, but it's kind of hard for a CB to have that much impact in elevating an entire program. They just don't have the same influence as other elevating positions. Now if they have him on the return game, that could help, but nonetheless a CB can only have so much influence.

I wouldn't go that far. I must point out that everything was loaded in his favor since Peppers was a scUM fan, and with JBB being committed there as well.

Disagree somewhat. Without Charles Woodson, Michigan doesn't get close to an undefeated season in 1997. Shoot Michigan went 10-3 in 1998 when Woodson left. Pretty good chance they finish with a better record than 10-3 had he stayed for his senior year.

CB's that can change the dynamic of an entire team and elevate that team to another level are definitely rare, but Peppers has that kind of potential. He's a big-time talent. One of the best DB recruits to come out in a long time in my opinion.

Well, according to the scUM WR coach (and resident M fan) speed is completely overrated so we don't have anything to worry about them actually getting the ball in his hands as a WR or anything.
