It's going to be USC, whats everyones thoughts?

I'd like it better if USC had to play us in our climate and about a thousand miles farther from LA. We'll be in scarlet jerseys, but it's their home turf.

I've caught the Trojans three times this year and can only say that beating Nebraska, Arkansas and ND in the same year indicates a decent team. They outplayed Cal... but then Tennessee blew Cal out of the water... their receving corps is as good as ours... but I think this is a very special Buckeye team. Without self inflicted wounds... like the last two Michigan games and the Fiesta Bowl... they would have utterly destroyed Michigan and Notre Dame in three BIG games... with them they still won in pretty convincing fashion. I think Mark May is out his ass.

I feel good about our D on their Offense. I see us rushing four or five, and then focusing on Jarrett and Smith, so I see a rushed Booty throwing check downs to RBs and TEs.

Only problem for USC is I think the OSU linebackers have the most interceptions by linebackers (8? 9?) so I can see our linebackers playing in space and closing on the dumps. Could even lead to a pick six or two.

Jarrett will have no big receptions although don't be surprised to see our DBs get flagged for interference four or five times.

As for USC being in a "home" environment, I would bet my house that OSU will have more fans there thanUSC, and of course will be much louder and more supportive. OSU's bowl games lately have all seemed like home games!

I also agree with what a couple of you have said, our run game will be established in the first quarter, if not on our first three offensive plays.

Two good programs, 200 good recruits... it will come down to senior leadership and coaching... OSU 38, USC 20. IF we play USC.

I'll bet Florida gets beat next week, too. Don't really know a lot about them but on the surface they do not seem like a GREAT team. Good coach, but not a great team.

Go Buckeyes!

Please don't make me listen to one more person talk about Pete having over a month to game plan for us. I think I heard that about a year ago about another coach with stock in Hostess...and that didn't work out too well for them.

I've wanted us to play USC for 3 years. Bring em' on...and fuck you O.J.

Speed! Speed!! Speed!!!

Is this the greatest combination of football speed ever assembled by two teams to date? On defense, speed kills.

Weapons! Weapons!! Weapons!!!

Both teams have embarrassing riches in weapons. On both offenses, you can't cover everyone equally well.

I'll put our speed and weapons against anyone.

This is the matchup I was hoping for! I think Ohio State will give the USC secondary hell all night, and won't be close... Early prediction is the Bucks by 13

On a sidenote, how do you get those team icons that are displayed to the left of the post counter, etc.????

Did you see the game? I was surprised at how easily Quinn was able to roam at times.

He escaped up the middle a few times, and eluded the USC LBs outside the pocket a few other times. It surprised me given the speed & hype for the SC defenders.

Yes, I did (at least portions of the game including his 60-yard jaunt). My point was that Quinn wasn't as great running the ball as people implied. Aside from his 60-yard run, he had 10 rushes for 14 yards. Thus my indirect comment about not comparing Quinn and Smith running.

Ever since last years Fiesta Bowl, it hasn't been exactly a secret about how opposing offenses should attack that ND secondary. TSUN and SC were only following the blue print laid down by Tressel last January. ND is lucky they played such a weak schedule because I thought there would have been a couple more teams that would have been able to cash in on their obvious weaknesses. Was there any question going into this season that UM and SC would be able to burn them deep. No question at all.

Yet all we heard from the worst coach of all time (Davies) all game was "Think about the 3 teams that ND has lost to in the last year, OSU, Michigan and now USC, the 3 best teams in the country today."

I couldn't agree with you more. Put them in with any of the top 10 teams and I think they lose. Yet, they are likely headed to a rematch in the Rose Bowl with SCum. Like anyone wants to see that blowout again. I'd rather see them get beat up by an SEC team or a team on their real level like Rutgers :) or Boisie State  .

Playing Boise would be an absolutely terrible outcome. I want both to play real football squads.
