It Looks Like I was Right (Hurricane Katrina Merged)

Looks like the worst is past New Orleans...and from what I can tell, it wasn't quite as bad as they were saying...it's bad, but not in the realm of 40,000 - 60,000 dead bad.

I think the 40-60K dead were a bit overblown reagrdless... but that last little shit to the east kept NOLA on the west side of the storm... which isn't quite a as bad... 20 ft storm surge in MIss... real bad news for those folks...

They just showed some idiot on CNN that drove his car into about 15 feet of standing water.... the reporter that was doing a story had to run out and help him out of his car... he then said he didn't see the water!?!?!?

I say this tongue in cheek, but doesn't it seem like this is the same old recycled picture that is used when covering every other single hurricane?

In all seriousness I pray for all that are affected by this hurricane.......especially those in Mississippi.......... When the dust settles, and the sun comes up tomorrow....I think we'll begin to truly realize the magnitude of this storm.

Did anyone hear the reporter on Fox News ask the guy in NO why he was still there, and the guy responded "None of your fucking business"!

They have a real mess down there. Looks like a levee broke, which doesn't help much. :(

Yeah, that's what Sheperd Smith gets when he interviews drunks on Bourbon Street.

Glad to see people trudge through waste deep water to loot.:roll1:
Those are the lowest of the low. I saw the Gov of Mississippi announcing that law enforcement and the Guard have been instructed to use maximum allowable force to deter looting. Personally, I say shoot the bastards.

Well, if I was relegated to a storm-damaged hotel, and Martial Law and flooding were preventing me from going to see what's left of my home, what the hell else is there to do? Given what these people are going through I'll give 'em a pass if they feel the need to drown their sorrows a bit.

Then they better be ready for Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton to show up b/c they will be shooting nothing but black people b/c that's the only color of people I saw looting on TV last night.

My thoughts exactly.

It disappoints me to see some Planeteers choosing now to throw a fit over gasoline prices, when guys like NOLA (and thousands just like him) are just trying to salvage what's left of their lives. It seems a little perspective is in order.

God be with him and his family...
