Iowa @ tOSU, Sat Oct 22, 12pm, FOX

Well were to start...

1. 66 yards rushing. That won't win the big ten let alone the national title. Not sure if Miyan is still hurt or something but damn today we couldn't get loose.

2. The offense should move on with the understanding that 11 won't help this year. Let's face it, JSN more than likely hurt himself again. The offense at this point has struggled when attempting to insert JSN. We need to go full steam ahead without him. If he comes back then great but if he doesn't then at least we understand the situation.

3. The defense right now is more consistent and better coached if I have to declare. The offense has given the other team 7 points 2 straight weeks and 3 weeks straight If you count the early muffed punt vs Rutgers.

So as good as our defense is? We are even better than we think.

Ok?

How is it pessimistic to think he might not play this year?

He clearly reinjured himself. He's already missed 5 games and there's only 5 games left.

So....

I used the Eeyore badge for your larger body of work.

As to your question, how is it contributing to the BP member’s game watching experience? You are right, he clearly reinjured himself. We all saw it. We all know that that has ramifications for the rest of this year, and for his career going forward. Why did you find it necessary to point that out to us as the game goes on?

There are a lot of people on this board that are way more knowledgeable than me at the X’s & O’s of football. And I appreciate their contributions to all of our understanding of how the game is played and won. I personally see very little value-add in postings like, “Well, if we’re gonna beat X at some point down the road, we’ve got to stop doing ‘the play that just happened’ etc.”

I want to see the replay of that play again. I thought live they held him which then caused him to come up lame. But he could have just came up lame.

Not as worried about this. Iowa keyed on the run, and OSU was going to have to pass to move the ball. They were rarely in a spot to have longer drives. We'll know more after PSU next week.

No offense but this is a message board?

My short time here so far has been wildly positive. However the last few weeks there's a growing "stfu" element I'm running into when projecting forward.

I have played college ball and I understand x and o stuff... but it's FUN to project forward.

Sorry I'm not all "oh yay!!"... I see flaws and I'm genuinely curious if others see them too. So far I'm getting "dude shut up". So I guess that tells me everyone sees the concerns I have.

The concern being our ability to play physical on offense. Thus far our offense vs good defenses has struggled (21 vs ND and aided by 6 turnovers today).

26 points vs Iowa in the first half today.

TTUN had 13

Everyone else was in single digits

........................................

And Day is a master adjuster.

I would like to apologize for this woefully off-based post

I made it sound like the offense would do much better in the 2nd half, and they only scored two more points in the 2nd half than in the first

………………………………………………..

Seriously though

How different did the 28 in the 2nd half feel to the 26 in the first?

The numbers do tell that story, but only if you look at the right ones in the right context

That second half was a statement

a beautiful beautiful statement

For sure better in the second... my concern is our rushing offense though. Couldn't get anything going there and that's a concern.

I’m not sure how the defense getting six turnovers shows that our offense has troubles. The offense today did not win every play, nor did it win every series. What college offense does? It did win every quarter, and the whole team won the game handily. Take out all of the field position gains and points by the defense. Ohio State still wins just on their offense. Would it be fair to say that this offense struggled at times today? sure. So there’s room for improvement, no doubt. But I would not call this a struggling offense. This team just did to Iowa under Kirk Ferentz what no one ever has. To me that’s more worthy of mention amongst fans.

100% all of this.

Really hurts me that 11 can't be out there. He worked it his ass off all off season to break record's... and he gets a 7 yd out. Still should have drawn that PI in the endzone. They should shut him down. Best thing for the kid and the team at this point.
