Iowa @ tOSU, Sat Oct 22, 12pm, FOX

Be real though. Who have we really played? Not a single team we have played is currently ranked in the top 25.

We can’t help it that ND isn’t any good. But he’s right. OSU’s SOS so far is really weak. And PSU isn’t very good either. There really are only 2 good teams in the conference and we don’t really know how good Michigan is because they haven’t played anyone either. Their nonconference schedule was weaker than ours.

They’d better not get caught looking ahead to The Game or Bielema’s Illini might surprise them. That probably won’t happen but UI has a strong running game. Could be a trap game.

I guess we'll just have to see then. Not many teams have big wins, and the few that do have also looked mediocre at times.

SOS is always hard to gauge mid-season, but you can only beat the opponent infront of you.

Agreed. We can't help Wisconsin is absolutely dog shit this year but Penn State will be our first true test only because Happy Valley is always a hard venue to play in.

You know what the great thing about a long football season while having a great defensive mind like Knowles is? There’s tons of film, tons of time to adapt and learn. If you think this team is playing like they played in Week 3 against Toledo, I’m not sure what there is to say to you.

Since you love to use Michigan as a measuring stick, they gave up just shy of 300 yards on defense against Iowa. The Silver Bullets gave up 158 while also finishing the game +4 in TO margin. It’s almost as if they are improving as the season goes on similar to how a lot of the great Buckeye teams of the past have done.

Sit back and relax a little. It ain’t that serious to be a fan.
I’m well aware. You’re not telling me anything I don’t know. In the Toledo thread I said there’s no need to panic. The overreaction to and misrepresentation of my ridiculing Tim Brando’s idiotic blathering was pretty ridiculous. I mean, it’s Tim Brando. He’s a moron. Take his side if you want. Turns out the coaches agree with me. If you take Tim Brando’s side then, well, that’s probably not something you should call attention to.

Dog Treat #5

My pup is going to be obese after this game, he suddenly loves Ohio State games now. Hell of a nice win, Iowa seriously has a good defense and we ended up shredding them. Another huge win while also getting plenty of learning moments.

Time to go destroy the Pedsters on their home turf. Great day to be a Buckeye as always.

Yeah, but it’s a noon game, not a prime time white out, their D isn’t up to their usual standard, their RB Nicholas Singleton is respectable but he’s no Saquon Barkley. And if Sean Clifford was any good then he wouldn’t still be playing in college. Sure, he may have the best game of his career next week but I don’t think that would be enough. He’s just not good. But he is mobile so that’s something Knowles had better have the D prepared for.

Try playing Across the Field for him and see if he salivates like Pavlov’s dog.

Hard to say what we saw today… interceptions, fumbles, and failed 4th and short attempts put the offense on the field on the Iowa side of the 50 in both halfs. On the other hand, the two times the Bucks had to start deep on their side they scored quickly. All the turnovers and inability to move the ball meant the Iowa defense was on the field all day.

Offense was out of sync for multiple reasons, but figured out the vertical passing game in the 2nd half. Miyan and Henderson didn't quite look full speed but hope theyre healing up. Really sucks to see JSN reaggravate his injury. Not sure he'll be back this year.

Iowa's defense provided a great challenge both legally and illegally. I'd like to see the screen game be better for OSU. It's the one thing they're missing and makes it hard to hold onto WRs.
