(4) I knew there would be many questioning the manner in which OSU won. Woody1968 hit it on the head when he posted if we had better special team play on the kickoff, this questioning manner would not be an issue. Hell, if Barclay hits his FG in regulation, this would not be an issue. If Rolle doesn't interfere with Chekwa's INT that magically for Iowa ends up being a reception, this would not be an issue. All I care about is that a W was recorded yesterday.

I feel like we take the foot off the gas too early and that is never good in any aspect of life more of then not. I wish we could hammer people like Boise does. Is this something JT is against?
I agree with one proviso...if you win a close Rose Bowl via Tresselball, then the answer is self explanatory. If that same strategy results in a beatdown from your PAC-10 opponent, then it opens up the specter that has haunted this board off and on for a few years - the question of whether the style of play is enough to win the Big-10, but that feat is its accomplishment zenith. What worked in 2002 might not be as productive, see Spurrier's domination of the SEC in 1990 and the DC's of the world finally catching up with him.muffler dragon;1595658; said:Then go root for Boise. If style points is your thang; then there are plenty of other teams that will fit the bill. I realize this may sound brutal, but it's either get over your frustration or move on.

That question is of course muddled by the fact that every game is different, injuries and distractions can affect the game, and the reason for losing a game with the changing personnel differs from year to year, making trends somewhat speculative. Still, a fan can root for his or her team to perform better in any number of ways and still be a fan. No need for anyone to go root for Boise, any more than I need to become a Bronco fan despite my unhappiness with the Gators poor red zone production and other offensive woes. I'm happy we are 10-0, I wish we could get better production out of receivers other than Hernandez and Cooper.
This is what happens when you play an excellent d-line (better than ours IMO), packing the box, and relying on your outstanding cornerbacks to keep the wideouts from getting behind them. I was mightily impressed with Iowa's defense, and I think scoring 24 against them is a very good performance. The long runs are what you can get if you can spring a back into the secondary, especially one with Saine's magnificent speed.Duane is spot on in his analysis. For the above stat lover that saw a different game than I where OSU was 'pounding' for over 200 yards and 4.5 ypc....you take out 4 runs and OSU rushed 47 times for a 2.7 ypc. You take out six plays and OSU rushed 45 times for 2.4 ypc and passed for less than 100 yards and only 6 yards per completion. That is what Duane is talking about
Tressel would rather score 14 in a given time period, against a good opponent, than use tactics designed to either score 28 or possibly lead to 3 turnovers. It's a matter of priorities, and Coach Tressel's priorities are wildly divergent from those of fans -- except that of winning nearly every game, of course. :tongue2:BuckeyeGuy513;1595653; said:I have an honest question for everyone.
