Indians Tidbits (2010 season)

I...can't...believe...this...shit...

OK, I can. Seriously, I hope the kid is OK. If he misses the rest of the season, so be it, I just hope he can be the same player again next season. At least it was a baseball play, aq hell of a good one, instead of a freak injury (Clint Barmes was never the same after falling up the stairs while carrying deer meat), which is a departure from the usual Cleveland luck anyway.

Just heard on ESPN that the Indians didn't think there was any serious damage to his ACL or MCL. Good news, but I'm still a little nervous.

MRI postponed to due swelling, but apparently, they don't think there is any major structural damage. that being said, who knows what they'll find in the MRI.

Jesus. I don't know what you people did to [censored] off the sports gods, but it must have been [censored]ing awful. Brutal.
I didn't do anything honest:wink2: Watching the game last night I needed some video replays to see how they guy took out his knee. It also looked like Santana was knocked unconscious which I don't understand. They need to teach this kid to play a little first base because he is going to need it, maybe not now, but in the future. As mentioned above, if he is done for the season that's fine as long as he will be good to go come spring training.

On a side note that was one hell of a throw by Choo which got Santana injured.

they are calling it a "Left Knee Sprain" for Santana.....

Catcher Carlos Santana, the jewel of the Cleveland Indians' system, went on the disabled list Tuesday afternoon with sprained left knee.

The team will know later this week how long he will be out.

Santana injured his left knee in a collision with Boston Red Sox outfielder Ryan Kalish at Fenway Park Monday night. Santana was carted off the field. It happened during the seventh inning of the Indians' 6-5 win.

He's hitting .260 with 13 doubles, six home runs and 22 RBI in 46 games for Cleveland. He has an on-base percentage of .401. He batted .316 at Class AAA Columbus (Ohio) before his promotion June 11.

The Indians also put DH Travis Hafner on the disabled list because of inflammation in his right shoulder.
