Indians Tidbits (2010 season)

I agree in principle, I just believe in accountability. Shapiro's moves (drafting, FA, trades) have put this franchise in such a hole right now, it's unbelievable. Three years ago, they were one game from a WS title (they would have creamed the Rockies if they got by Boston), now they're the worst tribe team in my memory and the man most responsible for the mess is getting a de facto promotion. It just burns me up.

i am neutral towards it. he did make some very good trades and signed some great lightening in a bottle reclamation free agents that turned out better than anyone could have hoped for. it became obvious that his drafting was far from desirable, which was the major downfall. he's a middle of the pack gm working for an owner that is stingy. he's a good baseball guy overall, and is probably in a position that better suits him.

man we have had a bunch of [censored]ty relievers in the past few years

the Tom Mastny's and Fernando Cabrera's

Kobayashi anyone?

the Brendan Donnelly experiment

[censored]ing Joe Borowski and now Dead Wood

pretty much the whole cast of relievers this year

who can forget Winston Abreu?

Luis Vizcaino Vinne Chulk Greg Aquino and Mike Gosling

it just seems like this team is a magnet for god awful relief

Well, we certainly agree ownership is a major issue.

I plan on going to my first Clippers game on Monday night (dime a dog night)...do their games sell out quickly?
their attendance figures are down considerably from last year so I doubt if you have to worry about the game selling out except for the fact it is dime a a dog night:chompy:

Can somebody please teach Justin Masterson how to pitch? Anybody. It's sad that there is such a dearth of talent because he could really use some retooling in AAA. He has an electric arm but ZERO command and it's magnified 10x as a starter.

The kid can hit. Let's hope the idiots in the front office just let the kid stay in the lineup. Now that Branyan is gone they have one less guy to showcase for a trade.

He can hit in AAA. He's looked totally overmatched against MLB pitching. That's understandable for a 21-23 year old kid, not a 25 year old kid that was drafted out of college. I'm hoping he comes around with more regular at bats, but given what I've seen thus far, I'm not optimistic.

let him play every day and see what happens. he didn't look totally overmatched last year at all. if he hits .150 for the remainder of the year, then you can throw the bust label on him.
