Indians Tidbits (2010 season)

At work--didn't see it either

Did you happen to see where his right foot came down? Anything greater than a 45 degree angle toward home plate is a balk. It's pretty easy to see how arguments can start over an imaginary line in the dirt.

My little brother had one of the nastiest lefty moves to first I've ever seen in my life. He had opposing coaches climbing the dugout fence, yelling at the ump that he was balking every time.

Pretty bad calls, and even worse reaction from West. Buehrle didn't go past 45 and his foot didn't cross the rubber. I liked his comments after the game about West:

"I think he's too worried about promoting his CD and I think he likes seeing his name in the papers a little bit too much instead of worrying about the rules."

Toronto Constantly Scouting Fausto - Let's Go Tribe!

We keep hearing the Blue Jays will have money to spend if they're still in the race. And one player they clearly have their eye on is resurgent Indians pitcher Fausto Carmona.

"They're definitely tracking Carmona," one scout said. "They've probably watched a dozen Carmona starts in a row, going back to spring training. Every time I've seen him, they've had a guy there who wouldn't normally be there, guys who were only coming in for a day and then leaving."

...

The Indians would be looking to move him because he's signed for next year at $6.1 million, then carries club options of $7M, $9M and $12M the following three years.

...

Meanwhile, the Indians would seem to have a way bigger challenge on their hands trying to move Kerry Wood, even though his time on the disabled list figures to make it practically impossible for him to vest his $11 million option for next year by finishing 55 games.

Valbuena down to .135...12 hits, 29 whiffs.:slappy:
I really don't understand why they have kept him up for so long or at least haven't been playing Mark G. at second base until Cabrera gets better.

The Blue Jays have as much chance of being in the race in July as Cleveland does. No WAY they can get past the Red Sox, Rays and Yankees, or any 2 therein.
Also, they might as well trade Carmona to Toronto if the Jays, Yankees, Red Sox or whomever are really interested. By the time the Indians are ready for another run at anything, Carmona's arm will have fallen off.
