Indians Tidbits (2010 season)

I really don't understand why they have kept him up for so long or at least haven't been playing Mark G. at second base until Cabrera gets better.

Also, they might as well trade Carmona to Toronto if the Jays, Yankees, Red Sox or whomever are really interested. By the time the Indians are ready for another run at anything, Carmona's arm will have fallen off.

By the time the Indians are ready to make a run at anything, Fausto will be eating apple sauce and playing shuffleboard at the old folks home.

I guess I should balk up on the little Spanish that I know. Maybe we can watch the shuffleboard together:) I do like applesauce.

does making a run for last place count as "making a run at something"?

if so its in the bag this year

So maybe this week we will see Santana. I remember one of our more knowledgeable posters have said that June 1 would be the magical date. I don't know if I would start him out in New York. Perhaps wait until they leave that dirty city.

The Cleveland Indians have said that hard-hitting catcher Carlos Santana is with the Clippers to work on his defense. But the rumor is that he is with the team only to delay the start of his arbitration clock, which could save the Tribe money three years from now.

Players become arbitration-eligible after three years of major-league service, but some can be eligible after two-plus years. For that reason, the date being whispered for call-ups for Santana and Michael Brantley is June 1. Conspiracy theorists say that Brantley (and not triple-A veteran Shelley Duncan) would have been called up last week if the Indians didn't have one eye on the arbitration clock.

The team insists that it wants to give former first-round pick Trevor Crowe a chance to start and also wants Brantley playing in triple-A. Perhaps. But given the vibe, it seems likely the Clippers could be in for a major roster change soon.

This lineup is littered with undisciplined hacks. It's amazing that year after year they go through these prolonged periods of looking like rank amateurs.

You guys are torturing yourselves. At least I know why to stop viewing a bad team and just post a few nuggets here and there and come back next season... for what I don't know.

Eh, I'm here good times and bad. I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment. But, yeah, there is some good comedy with this team. They have a real 'Major League' feel to them...minus the hot owner.

In the interest of time, they might as well forfeit Valbuena's at bats. I've never seen a MLB player look so lost and overmatched at the plate...and he's our #7 hitter. If Acta insists on playing this turd, at least have the common sense to bat him ninth for chrissake's...the schmuck has a .275 OBP and has whiffed 30 times versus 13 hits in 92 at bats. Only on this team does that keep you in the starting lineup. :slappy:
