Indians Tidbits (2009 season)

I guess after a guy pitch so well in one game I certainly would give him a couple more starts. Huff, Sowers, and Laffey certainly have not proved that they can win consistently and I am not sure that I want to rely on a guy who is coming off of the DL so why not try give him a couple more starts before deciding what to do with them.

Ohka has a long track record which proves he can not win consistently. Huff, Sowers and Laffey are young guys who have a chance to be part of the club for the future. Yes, Ohka pitched a good game but Huff & Sowers also pitched well in their most recent starts. I think Ohka should get some consideration for another start but it's not as clear-cut as you make it out to be.

no, you called wedge a dumbass for not getting peralta any time at 3rd, when clearly cleveland gave ample time at 3rd during the offseason.

i'm not nitpicking about anything. it's not a little correction. you were simply incorrect about peralta getting playing time at 3rd.
If JP did play third base during the winter league, I guess I don't understand why it was so urgent to go out and find a third baseman for the start of the season. I, personally, did not read anything about JP playing third during the winter league. My point was that JP should have played third base during spring training with Cabrera at short. It would have been nice to have a set starting lineup coming out of spring training and Wedge never seems to have one. DeRosa could have played LF, first base, DH, etc. He has more multi-talented than JP and really isn't known for his prowess at third base anyhow.

I guess I would like to see Ohka start another game or two for the Indians and see how he does before we revert back to one of the younger guys who we have seen a lot more of and they had been up and down. I will grant you that they both had pitched quality games in their last starts but their track records are not so good either. I would just like to see the new guy start a couple more games before Wedge decides what to do with him.

pavano says that his sore neck was an issue in his last start, but he just doesn't look right.

he could just be coming back to earth at this point though, so who knows.

but his arm looks like it's been late a few times already tonight, which if his neck was bothering him, would be a byproduct.

He's been all over the place. A few in the dirt and a few up near the batter's head.

A little bit of trouble now. First 2 batters single. Fly out. 1st and 3rd 1 out. Fielder at the dish. Low ground out and the runner scores on the FC. 3-2 Brew Crew.
