Indians Tidbits (2009 season)

I wouldnt be to down on Huff yet

Sowers however was the #6 overall pick, and a totally shitty selection

Not really down on Huff, guess I should have said I was hoping for more of a power guy as opposed to finesse. Huff was dominant in the minors last year which makes me think he can be a pretty good ML pitcher. On the other hand, I'm not nearly as sold on the potential of the other finesse lefties (Sowers & Lewis).

Really like the selection of White.

Not in last place (at least for one night)!

The schedule --has been lately-- and will be a little easier for the Tribe, so they got that going for them.

however...

 jesus all start voting is atrocious, fans should not be allowed to vote especially if it is going to decide home field for the world series

Victor is currently sitting in 5th in the AL catcher voting, behind the likes of

Jason Varitek- .247 10 HR 24 RBI

and Jarrod Saltalamcchia- .245 5 HR 24 RBI

while Victor is hitting .343 with 10 HR and 41 RBIs

terrible

I guess I did not realize that DeRosa's power numbers were that good. There is no way that I would trade him for some unproven pitching that was mentioned yesterday. He might not be that good in the field but big-league teams who want to make a run can pay for power and I would hold off doing any trades until we get people back from the DL and see how we go from there.

this kind of crap always happens to this team

Alberto Callaspo has 2 career HRs in 591 career ABs, and he hits a freaking grand slam against us
I really want to take a break from this team for a week and check back to see where they're at.

Too frustrating to follow on a nightly basis, but this is about the worst time in sports. I thought the Cavs would delay following this debacle for a couple more weeks but that didn't happen. :(

Football season is only about 90 days away...:roll1:

They'll be about 10 games under .500...get used to it this season. The starting rotation is simply too bad to string together any kind of decent win streak.

this team is not consistent in any capacity, whether it be starting pitching (outside of Lee and to a lesser extent, pavano), bullpen, or offensively.

Tom Hamilton was on The Fan here 2 days ago and he summerized it quite well. He said the team has no consistency in any facet of its game. They score 8 runs one night then get blanked the next. Their approach at the plate is terrible and leads to these boom or bust offensive outputs.

The Indians, with the exception of 2007 have underachieved based on their pythagorain score every single season. When that continually happens it generally has to do with your talent, and your manager.

Quite frankly, the best thing that can happen at this point is for the Indians to totally tank and there be a massive housecleaning.
