Indians Tidbits (2009 season)

Another terrible outing for Carmona. It's too bad there aren't really any other options because I don't think he belongs in the bigs right now.
Today really should be the last straw. He has been getting progressively worse all year and all they're doing by continuing to throw him to the wolves out there is wrecking his confidence. Right now, pretty much anything/anybody is a better option than Carmona. Hell, throw Ohka in his spot...just please get him out of the rotation.

The problem is you just can't let a guy like Carmona walk away or put him in the bullpen. Putting him in the bullpen would be the worst thing that they could do to him but I have no idea what else they can do. If they would let him walk some team would probably pick him up and he would be back to his form of 2007. The Indians really are a disaster right now because they have no tradable players and the majority of their guys are just bad.

Anyone know if he has any options left?

Is he out of options? I don't think he is, but I could be wrong. If not, he needs to be sent to AAA ASAP, because he is garbage.

12 strikeouts for the team?!

Scott Baker and his 6+ ERA came in with only 49 strikeouts in his 10 starts. He got 10 just today.

Everyone in the lineup with an official 'at-bat' has a strikeout, except Valbuena.
:rofl::rofl::rofl:

jesus Carmona riding a 1.81 WHIP and a 7.42 ERA after 12 starts, enough is enough

Jack Cassell or Kirk Saarloos cant possibly do any worse than he is doing right now
Speaking as a Reds fan who saw Saarloos pitch in 2007 ... Yes. He can possibly do much, much worse.

Well, Valbuena felt left out and decided to get in on the action in the 9th, striking out to end the game. Everyone who batted in the lineup struck out at least once. (Garko came on as a defensive sub and never came to the plate).

So is DeRosa. Victor too, for that matter.

Especially with Carlos Santana playing pretty well down on the farm. He's a real talent.

Plus, it'd be good for Victor to be on a winning team (not NY or BOS). He's a class act and a great competitor.

With how bad the division has been, the Tribe aren't completely out of it. However, it is time for them to field offers and be ready to make a move later this month or a little later in July. If there's a deal that will help the future of the club, make it.

seats behind home plate in the summer months when the Indians are playing will be nice, with the air conditioning effect caused by all the swings and misses

The standings might not show it, but they're out of it. Injuries aside, the bottom three of the rotation is so devoid of any ability that there's basically no way this team can string together enough wins to close the gap. The injuries are bordering on parody (they should get what they can from Cliff and Victor before they join the list), and that will hinder them all year.

I love Victor, but at this point, his trade value out weighs his value on the roster. They started building toward the future last summer and it needs to continue this year. I want to see them deal Victor, DeRosa and Cliff. They may as well totally blow this team up and start from scratch.

Yeah, you're right.
