What's worse? All the walks or Shoppach striking out nearly every other time he trots to the plate?

its not just Shoppach

take a gander at the top 30 in strikeouts in the AL, 6 of them are Indians

this whole damn team whiffs like hell

I didn't realize that. But hey, they are 4th in the league in runs scored, which is something considering all the injuries...

I just don't understand how a major-league pitcher cannot throw a ball over the plate. I mean I understand that they can put so much stuff on the ball it is very difficult to control but can't say throw a strike when they need one. I would rather see the better give a hand with the bases loaded than for the guy to walk.

Sowers just runs out of gas after 5 innings and it's about time that Wedge realized that. I'm surprised he didn't have someone start warming up in the bullpen at the beginning of the sixth inning or at least when Sowers walked the first two batters. Relief pitchers have no excuse for walking guys. How could they be tired. Never mind, I forgot what team they were pitching for.

For once I wanted Shopach to bunt so he does and it backfires. I wonder if he bunted on his own or not. I guess it really wouldn't have made any difference anyhow because he probably would have grounded into a double play rather than striking out anyhow.

Surprised to hear that Hafner's shoulder is still hurting. Shocking. I sure hope that Sizemore doesn't get screwed up in the same way.

And the Tribe lose again.

4-3 to the Twinkies.

They actually battled back. Also, since the division sucks, every other team in the Central (except the Twins) lost tonight as well. Oh and Shoppach, while only going 1 for 4, did not strike out...so we got that going for us.

8 games back with only 108 to play. :)

Another terrible outing for Carmona. It's too bad there aren't really any other options because I don't think he belongs in the bigs right now.

Tribe offense is getting shut down today. I'm starting to think they struggle against pitchers with good control. My thought is that they are a really patient team that is good at working counts. They seem to have a problem with guys who throw a lot of strikes which causes them to get behind in the count a lot. The offense has been pretty good for the most part but maybe against the control pitchers there needs to be a little more aggressive approach. Not able to watch today so I don't know if this is the case against Scott Baker but I'm thinking about other mediocre pitchers they've struggled against such as Brian Bannister and Nick Blackburn.
