2 runs in the 8th and 7 in the 9th to rally from a 10-2 8th inning deficit...according to the AP: "The loss was Tampa Bay's 14th in a row in Cleveland. The Rays have not won a road game against the Indians since a 1-0 victory on Sept. 28, 2005." Up by 10 runs and still can't win in Cleveland... :slappy:

Good post, Mili. Maybe, just MAYBE this win can jump-start some life into this team. Great job staying focused by the team and the Skipper. Best of all was seeing Victor get the game winner after going 0-18, after leading the league at .400 a week ago.

Peace.

Also, I'm going to assume this is the umpire hat that is being talked about.

The hats are called "Stars and Stripes" and MLB.com has all the team's versions for this year there. I believe they are worn on July 4th and Sept. 11 gamedays as well. They say some proceeds go to the Welcome Back Veterans foundation.

another image of today's hat, from a Yahoo story.

I've got some friends with the 2008 version of the patriotic cap.
Thanks for the find. I read the article and thought the sensitivity over Chief Wahoo was gone, but apparently not, and its not native americans crying foul either. I do think the cursive "I" would've been sweet since Wahoo was removed...

Yeah, that's definitely been a long-time debate. I honestly haven't gotten involved in it, so I can't comment one way or another.

Though it is becoming apparent that the Indians seem to be slowly phasing out Chief Wahoo's image and going with the "C" on more and more items/gear (including their new Spring Training ballpark in Goodyear, AZ).

I keep hoping this team can put together a winning streak and get back within striking distance. I'm not worried about the offense and the bullpen seems to be coming around but the rotation is in shambles. Other than Lee and Pavano I don't really have confidence in any starters they run out there and now they're running out of options. They started the year with 5 options for the 4th and 5th spots. Reyes may be done for the year, possibly Lewis too, Laffey went to the 'pen and is now on the DL for who knows how long, Sowers has minimal room for error, Huff was not very good in Columbus and has been worse since being called up. It will be interesting to see how they patch this together. They desperately need Carmona to get it going.
