Indians Tidbits (2009 season)

Why do they continue to sit LaPorta? He's still on the roster, correct? That is absolutely puzzling to me. He's the organization's top prospect, so they call him up to play once or twice a week? Fucking ridiculous. See if he's ready or jettison him back to Columbus for fuck's sake...

Agreed. I think trading DeRosa could help to remedy this situation. I like him as a player but moving him would open up time in both the infield & outfield. He's in the last year of his deal but could have value similar to Casey Blake last year for a contending club. Not likely they'll get another Carlos Santana deal but they could get a decent prospect or two and open up playing time for the young guys on the roster.

Unfortunately, the braintrusts in charge are still harboring the delusion this team can compete this year. I'm sure they'll wake up come July-August, but in the meantime, they're completely wasting LaPorta. It's criminally inept the way they're handling him right now.
