Indians Tidbits (2009 season)

The Indians won a game tonight.

If they win again tommorrow, that's two in a row. If they win again on Saturday, that's called a winning streak. It has happened before.

That was thanks to Cliff Lee. I expect a resounding thud after tonight.

Also, as a force of habit, I have to point out something negative. Victor is now hitting .193 over the last eight weeks. Ouch.

for the 90 trillionth time, worst trade ever was taking on Ande Marte. John Shuerholtz just doesn't let great prospects go. At some point, you just let your own perceptions go, and wonder why one of the best GM's of all time would let a great prospect go.....
72 games for the Clippers

.322
12hrs
52rbi's

wasn't really that bad considering they didn't give up much to get him. also, they got a decent back up catcher (not so much this year though) in the deal.

also, as stated in the previous post, Marte is having a really good year in AAA. I hope they give him one final shot in Cleveland. you never know when things might click for a guy and it's not like they've got anything to lose.

As insane as it seems, it would be worth a shot. He can't be much worse than Peralta.

Yeah, my post was by no means meant to be taken completely seriously. Marte has shown time and again that he's just a good AAA level player, nothing more.

However, the Tribe may as well give him a call-up, at this point in the season.

actually he's having much more success in AAA this year than he has in the past. since he's been with the Tribe he's never even really been a good AAA player which is why i'm hopeful that some actual improvement has been made. his numbers this year at AAA are somewhat comparable to LaPorta's, he's a better defender and is only a year older so why not give him a final shot?

Yep. 6-2.

Victor has plum sucked since May, 0-4 tonight making him 4-40 with 0 HR and 2 RBI in July.

There's no way this team doesn't lose 100 games.
