Why you even make that trade is beyond my comprehension. There has to be better FA options that don't require you trading away a young prospect. Shapiro is letting his ego cloud his judgement at this point. Worst part is that it doesn't appear they are planning on making any more moves, so we'll be stuck with essentially the same team next season probably along with some yawn-inducing FA signings. This organization is fucked.

well the franchise record for loses is 105 in 1991

this team has 54 losses with 73 games remaining so they'd have to go 21-52 in the remaining games to break it, I think they just may do it

Nah, they're always good for a late August-September run when the pressure is off. Just enough time for everyone to pat themselves on the back for another magnificent turnaround and save their jobs!

Seriously though, as bad as the pitching is, that 105 losses may not be too far out of reach. I predict they'll finish somewhere around 98-100 losses and then fuck up the #1 pick next summer. I'm stocking up for an extended run of futility...
