If it wasn't for the date rape of a once proud organization Mark Shapiro would never get laid.

At least you guys have a GM, and don't have to live under the tyranny of this guy.

But hey, I have Walt Jocketty, so it's not all bad.

No Sublime reference.

Its so nice, I wanna see the same pitch twice

Here's the Tribe's starting pitcher's ERAs:
13.50
8.31
7.42
6.71
6.57
6.35
6.32
5.13
4.50
3.47

8/10 with ERAs above 5.00 and 7/10 above 6.30. For all the (deserved) grief we extend the pigeon coop, the starters have been significantly worse. Though I'd wager a large number of those runs were runners left on base that the relief has allowed to score. Either way, it is all bad beyond belief. That's too depressing to add any Sublime lyrics. :!

Whoops, looked right past that...+1

God, that's sadder then a bag of puppys being thrown into a river.
More like 8 puppies put into a bag, thrown into a shallow stream and beaten repeatedly with a mace until the water runs red...

the only reason im still watching is for the comedic value

watching these bullpen scrubs (and all the starters except Lee) pitch is pure comedy, I cant wait to see who Shapiro pulls out of some other teams trash can next

here are some possible :options for him:

Josh Towers: former Blue Jays starter currently lurking on the Yankees AAA roster, 45-55 with a 4.96 ERA in 726 career MLB innings

Sergio Mitre: former Starter/Reliever with the Cubs and Marlins currently lurking on the Yankees AAA roster. 10-23 with a 5.36 ERA in 310.2 career MLB innings

Gary Glover: former reliever of 6 MLB teams currently lurking on the Marlins AAA roster, 29-26 with a 5.03 ERA in 516.2 career MLB innings

Ben Hendrickson: once a top 100 prospect had a short time (a very shitty time) in the MLB with the Brewers lurking on the Twins AAA roster, 1-10 with a 7.41 ERA in 58.1 career MLB innings

Brandon Duckworth: former starter of the Phillies Astros and Royals currently lurking on the Royals AAA roster. 23-34 with a 5.28 ERA in 511 career MLB innings

Matt Belisle: former Reds starter/reliever currently in limbo with the Rockies, 17-23 with a 5.23 ERA in 360 career MLB innings

Shawn Estes: still pitching apparently for the Dodgers AAA team

Tanyon Sturtze: shitty journeymen reliever lurking on the Dodgers AAA roster, 40-44 with a 5.19 ERA in 797 career MLB innings

Shawn Chacon: rotting away on the As AAA team

im sure there are plenty more that would be fitting as well

Sadly, about 75% of that list would upgrade the shitstains we have now.

It's weird, I actually miss the comedy that Tribe games now provide. The AS break needs to hurry up and end. Wedgie said he thinks things are gonna turn around in the second half, and dadgummit, I believe him. :so:

I read that Carmona will be making a return to the MLB rotation after the AS break, that should be a good show

Jesus. I hope that's just a bull[censored] rumor. It has to be, because he's basically undergoing a groundup rebuild. If they rush him with nothing to play for, they're [censored]ing morons. On second thought, this isn't so hard to believe...

Speaking of rumors, from cnnsi's "Truth and Rumors":

Martinez rejects Indians trade talks

Victor Martinez, given his choice, would retire wearing an Indians uniform. "I can't see myself in another uniform," said Martinez, during Monday's media session for American League All-Stars. "We'll see what happens." The Indians hold a $7 million club option on Martinez for 2010. After that he's a free agent. It would take a lot for the Indians to trade him, but the rumors are out there and they're persistent.
