Not that it was likely to happen anyway, but any hope of a Victor to the Sawks trade is officially dead...the Pirates continue to sell off parts sending one of those LaRoche fellas to Boston.

Red Sox acquire Adam LaRoche; trade Julio Lugo for Chris Duncan - MLB - SI.com

Of course, the way Victor has been hitting most of the last two months, I'm not so sure anybody would be willing to part with much anyway.

Someone needs to tell the Buco's that you aren't supposed to send salary along with the deadwood in a slary dump.

Lee could be on the way out. Let's hope they get something done

Indians considering trading ace Lee to Rays - FOX Sports on MSN

The Rays and Indians have discussed a trade that would send Cleveland ace Cliff Lee to Tampa Bay, major league sources said, but the sides didn't appear close to a deal as of late Wednesday evening.

Indians general manager Mark Shapiro is asking for multiple high-end prospects in return for the left-hander. He is believed to prefer right-hander Wade Davis as the primary chip in the deal. So far, the Rays have balked at including him

I was thinking Boston might be a nice fit for Garko. Guess not now.

Give Perez another inning, that's sure to result in at least a couple walks, a wild pitch and a home run or two...

Perez has had 4 good outings in a row - 4 IP, 0 H, 1 BB, 0 ER, 4 K's. Also, Valbuena's hitting .323 with an .880 OPS this month. The bad part is he's only had 31 AB's. I think they need to let the kid play against some lefties. He's gotta learn to hit them sometime and it doesn't make sense giving Carroll so much PT considering he's not in the long-term plans and winning games is less important at this point in the season than player development.
