Indians Tidbits (2009 season)

Another interesting scenario happens if the Nats fail to sign Strasberg, which is what is being reported right now.

That sets up the draft to be 1. Nationals 2. Nationals 3. Indians, or if the Indians keep up their stellar play 1. Indians 2. Nationals 3. Nationals.

Both situations make it highly plausible that the Indians will get one of Harper or Strasberg since Strasberg will have the opportunity to decline being drafted by Washington.

Will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

I'm tired of them picking up development players. We all know that as soon as they're in the bigs and become good enough to require any kind of "star" money to resign them we'll just trade them for more development players. EVERY YEAR IS A REBUILDING YEAR IN CLEVELAND!!

Throw some thing on the table for Halladay!

Rockies Top 10 Prospects : Rockies Farm Report : Rocky Mountain News

10. Connor Graham
Strengths - Graham's 94-95 mph fastball and hard slider are two plus pitches that he should be able to build off of and make him very intriguing. If he could add another pitch, he'd have as high an upside as Friedrich as a starter.

Weaknesses - Two pitches alone probably won't be enough to keep him in a starter's role, particularly considering the slider lacks command at times. While this could limit him to the pen at the MLB level, his potential there would be next to Weathers' in the system.

Nice night by Marte for the Clippers yesterday...4/4 with a go-ahead solo shot in the 6th, then sealed it with a 3-run homer in the 8th. Time for a call-up?

He's been tearin it up all year. I don't see a reason to not at give him one more chance.

His lack of plate desipline and low low walk totals probably hurt him though

:slappy: here comes the second half "rally" where they "only" finish like 6 or so games out of first instead of 15 and save Wedges job once again

the Mariners should be ashamed of this ass kicking they are receiving by this shit squad

Rafael Betancourt on Tribe's radar if he becomes a free agent: Indians chatter - cleveland.com

Clubhouse confidential: If Rafael Betancourt hits the free-agent market this winter, the Indians will take a look at the veteran reliever. The Indians traded Betancourt to Colorado on Thursday for minor-league right-hander Connor Graham. They held a club option on Betancourt for 2010 worth $5.4 million, but were unwilling to pay him that for the setup role.

The chances of Betancourt becoming a free agent this winter would appear good unless, of course, the Rockies pick up his option.
