Indians Tidbits (2008 season)

yea after tonight its probably about .232

the Padres had 14 hits tonight and theirs before the game was .236 so they are pulling away and leaving the Indians in dead last

I can't even imagine this team putting together a game like that right now. It is painful to watch/follow this team right now. Borowski was just activated and it might help... which says a lot about the state of the bullpen. Even if some guys start to turn things around, this team is so far in the dumps offensively that they'll have to do some maneuvering for any real progress.

Well, you know things are getting pretty bad when the Indians announcers start questioning some of the moves that Wedge made last night. #1 got pinch running for Garko in the eighth inning and not bringing Perez in to start the bottom of the eighth. I might have the innings confused but I am so frustrated that I can I watch entire games any longer.

I'm going to spend my time on finding a CB for the Browns:)

Do what I do, I throw my attention to my fantasy teams.

I have one league that is a daily transaction points league. My strategy the last few weeks has been to pick up the pitcher the Indians are facing (if they are a free agent) and start them against the Indians. It has been a gold mine

I've pretty much stayed away from this thread because I was holding out hope for the season. I'm the one saying that the "bats are going to get hot anytime now." My fellow Tribe fans have been laughing in my face.

Today I was in the car on the way to work and I thought to myself: "Joe B is on his way back so that should help the bullpen..."

Then I had to pull over and sit for a minute. The fact that I'm actually looking forward to the return of Blowowski is enough to make me want to drive into a tree.

You might not want to get back behind the wheel for a few weeks. Not only are they bringing Joe Blow up to save our bullpen but do think that they are even remotely thinking about sending Laffey back to Buffalo instead of letting Marte leave is beyond comprehension.

Revolving door: Closer Joe Borowski will be activated before tonight's game against Texas. Right-hander Jake Westbrook, scheduled to make his second rehab start tonight at Class AA Akron, could be back in the rotation by next week if all goes well.

Wedge added that outfielder Shin-Soo Choo, on a 20-day rehab assignment at Class AAA Buffalo, N.Y., could join the Indians in the near future.

Borowski pitched a scoreless inning Wednesday for Akron, giving up one hit. He's been on the disabled list with a strained right triceps muscle since April 15.

"We're looking to activate him Friday," Wedge said. "His velocity is pretty close to normal. He looked good, he feels good and he's ready to come back."

Borowski's return and the anticipated arrivals of Westbrook and Choo mean the roster will change. Infielder Michael Aubrey, infielder Andy Marte and pitcher Aaron Laffey are among the most vulnerable. Aubrey and Laffey have options, Marte doesn't.

If Aubrey or Laffey go over Marte, I'm fucking done. WHO THE FUCK CARES ABOUT MARTE??????? :! The problem is, Shapiro's dumb ass is afraid of a team with a capable hitting coach snagging him off of waivers and developing him. So he'll just hold on to him, with our hitting coach that couldn't develop film with a polaroid.

This team is being ran by a bunch of baboons that got into the liquor cabinet. :smash:

I would not mind it if they sent Cabrera done to Buffalo and recalled Barfield. I know that Barfield is only hitting about 240 done in Buffalo and Cabrera is the better all-around player but I think by sending Cabrera down to Buffalo hopefully he will regain his confidence by hitting against some lesser pitchers.

In addition, I would not mind Aubrey getting a little more playing time at first base over Garko. Garko really hasn't been doing much of late and Aubrey has shown some power when given the opportunity. Plus, he is much better defensively and can move a little faster.

I don't understand why they couldn't send the left-handed reliever, that they never use, down to Buffalo in order to activate Westbrook or Chin.

Seldom-used left-hander Craig Breslow was informed after Thursday's loss to the White Sox that he will be designated for assignment to make room for Borowski. The Indians will have 10 days to trade, release or assign Breslow, who had a 3.24 ERA in 8 1/3 innings of work, to the Minors.
This was the left-handed reliever whose name I could not think of it in the above post.
