Indians Tidbits (2008 season)

if Laffey gets demoted b/c Westbrook needs a spot in the rotation I'm quitting the season. I know NF has given them until June to find a new hitting coach. I'm willing to give them a little more time on that.

However, optioning Laffey down to triple-A as well as he is pitching would be moronic. I just hope they don't do it and then feed us a bunch of shit about Paul Byrd's experience and importance in the rotation. If they keep Byrd in the rotation, it's becuase of money.....they don't want to waste that contract coming out of the bullpen or cutting it loose.

I just don't think it can happen (optioning Laffey down), but you never know with this franchise.

Laffey has been unbelievable, I can't see how they option him, but it looks like we have 6 solid starters for only 5 spots. A wonderful problem to have if you have an offense worth a shit. If I had my choice, you do something with Byrd. He's been the weak link this season. What you do, I don't know. maybe the bullpen. In all honesty though, it doesn't matter who they trot out there on any given night because they rarely score enough runs to win anyway.

That would be the reason and given Shapiro's track record, it wouldn't surprise me at all

Two hits off of another pitcher with a 5+ ERA. It takes a lot of effort and more than a little luck to be that bad. This one falls squarely at the feet of Laffey for having the gall to leave baserunners for our bullpen to try to neutralize. :slappy:

Well, I'd beat the same old drum about canning Shelton and making changes, but that's growing tiresome. Instead, lets all just sit back and enjoy this spectacle of futility because it is truly something to behold...

Just when our bats started to get hot, we have another single run performance.

How long before we have another Cleveland Indian back-to-back multi-run performance?

We always follow up good hitting performaces with duds. Hopefully we can hit that 2 run barrier tomorrow. I've got a feeling we might be able to put together a double-single sequence but don't hold me to it.

Oh, and these pitchers suck. We got them 2 runs on back-to-back nights and we go and waste it with bad pitching. Do these pitchers expect to be carried every night?

It's too bad Shelton can't take over pitching coach duties too. Shelton must be pissed that Willis can't get his staff in order...

Yeah, it's painfully obvious that these shithead starters need to learn that they cannot allow baserunners, period. I mean, how about carrying your weight for once Laffey? A 1.60 ERA is unacceptable. Back to Buffalo until you can learn. Seriously, how hard is a no-hitter really? Boston just had one last week. Is that too much to ask?

Anybody wanna vBet on whether the team BA falls into the .220's?

Virtually impossible at this point, what is it now, like .232? Holy shit, it's even funnier when you actually type it out.. I'd say it's more likely to reach the .210's than .250...

yea after tonight its probably about .232

the Padres had 14 hits tonight and theirs before the game was .236 so they are pulling away and leaving the Indians in dead last

Like I said, sit back and enjoy the spectacle of futility, it's truly remarkable how bad these guys are. They're like the N_tre _ame of MLB.

Oh, and one of our three guys above .250 (Sizemore) is teetering on the brink.
