And I hope this continues... and if you notice our offense is showing signs of life.
I blame Shelton for the excessive amounts of strikeouts. I think it's a hitting coaches responsibility to at least get the guys to put the ball in play. Saying that, with our pitching Wedge needs to learn how to manufacture runs when the guys are not hitting.
Shelton has been our hitting coach the last few years right? And our offense has been great up until the last few months. Yes the strikeouts are troubling, but blame the hitting coach? I blame more the player and the type of player they are. We just have to face it that we are a team that strikes out alot, even when we score alot of runs we strike out too much. Sometimes you have to know what type of team we are.
If the fact that he is not playing center field is messing with Lofton's hitting, put him on the bench and let J. Mike play left field..
I don't think it is just because he is not playing centerfield. I thought it was a combination of all the factors. And if I would grade the 3 causes this would be #3. I think the more important factors is playing time and not batting leadoff. Lofton should be playing every day unless there is a tough lefty pitching. But when you sit a guy like Lofton down against a crappy lefty (or take him out for a pinch hitter) that is an insult to him and could affect his mental aspect of the game.
