Indians pitcher C.C. Sabathia pauses after loading the bases with two outs in the fifth inning.

CLEVELAND -- Indians catcher Kelly Shoppach walks to the plate to This Cowboy's Hat by Chris LeDoux, a country song about an aging cowboy willing to fight to protect his prized possession. The message, Shoppach once said, is for the opposing pitcher:

Last night was the worst pitching matchup the Tribe have left in the series. Hopefully Carmona can come back and pitch like he did against the Yanks. I wish Wedge would start pulling pitchers before they give up runs. Byrd and Westbrook are good for 5 and CC is good for 100 pitches. After that pull them.

Where did all this negative stuff come from? Just a game... we have 2 more to win one and Beckett is one good pitcher, too bad he is the only good pitcher Boston has. Plus it is meant to be to win Saturday or Sunday as my lil brother is coming into town this weekend. Since he had his wedding not at home we are throwing a family gathering so everyone can meet his wife.

Oh yeah... his wife is from Rhode Island and is a Boston fan. So of course we will win when she is in Cleveland, only fitting in my book. Time to welcome her to the family by kicking the sox to the curb

The only thing that concerns me about Saturday night is that Fausto is pretty emotional and if he can keep his emotions in check we will be fine.

What is this "fuck" thing:) that has permeated this thread since the Tribe lost last night. Win or lose, I still will be in the Indians fan.

Last I checked, Carmona was a pretty good pitcher. He had a rough outing last time out, but unlike C.C., he was strong in his first playoff start. That showed that he can handle the pressure.

Tribe take Game 6....

... easily.

Gimme a break, the sox won a game last night and that makes it 3-2 in favor of the tribe. The way some of these Jag-offs on TV are talking the ALCS ended last night and the sox are playin the rockies.

Please!?!

I can't see how a team that has only one starter that can stop the tribe line up, already won this series with only two wins!?!?!?! We've beat the tar outta the sox bull pen this series and we'll continue pounding them until we take this series.

Game Six. It's Game Six damnit!!! This thing ain't over yet!!!

Anything easy ain't worth a damn!

Go Tribe!

Come guys, you aren't really asking "why the glass half empty."

Remember it's the Indians/Browns...interchangeable. You just don't get that kind of rep accidently.

They have let Clevelander's and their fans down for so long, they have to prove themselves as worthy.

Sorry for the reality check and go Tribe!

Hey... If we lose it's not like its the end of the world?? haha

That's not really the point. Manny said that. Not Hafner, Sizemore, Sabbathia, Carmona or any other person on Cleveland's line-up. Again. the fact of the matter is, we are STILL up 3-2. We have to win A game. 1. to win the series. Based on the pitching ALONE, who would YOU take in this series. That has nothing to do with the fact that Cleveland has hit over .300 overall AND w/RSP throughout the playoffs. I felt guilty about calling you out last night, but not so much now.

Wyobuck- I WAS JOKING...you know? Trying to lighten the mood? With all this talk about "what if we lose" (which I'm included in) I figured I'd just put in a jab. If you go back 2 pages you would've seen me write this....

there was no touching Beckett tonight and thats what I expected... I thought we'd be damn lucky to win game 5 if we did infact win. Hopefully Carmona can come out and get us to the WS. GO TRIBE.

Do you not think I know the Indians have played pretty well so far? This hurts me to say this but I use to be a bigger indians fan than Ohio State fan until about 99' when I was in the 7th grade. I use to beg to stay up late to watch the tribe make their playoff runs, and even wore my indians gear after the game 7 loss so don't act like I've abandoned this damn team. FAR FROM IT. If you couldn't see I was playin around and jus joking then I dunno what else to say. I haven't said the team sucked I never said anything to that extent. Go back and i'm more upset with the way Hafner/Sizemore/C.C are playing. This has been a team effort so far because we would not be anywhere past NY had itnot been for Parralta, Lofton, Blake, Cabrera, etc...The indians will always have a close place in my heart because this team was #1 to me up until I became a buckeye fan, but I tell you what the Indians aren't far behind. Even though I've lived in Virginia, and Minnesota the past 6 years I've always watched/listened to them every chance I could even through those past couple bad years when we dismantled our team. You want a true fan of the indians, you're talking to him. Don't question my faith in the indians because trust me I'm behind them 100%

If you want my honest opinion.. I think we have an excellent shot at puttin it away tomorrow night! Will we? who knows? I'm really torn on what to expect... What I do know and I want YOU to know is that no matter what happens I will be rooting for them game 1 in the WS or game 7 on Sunday night.

Rain falls and the infield is covered in Fenway Park as Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield heads to the outfield. Yesterday's showers should clear out by tonight.

BOSTON -- So now the old ballpark is back in play, with its antique charm and its ravenous fans, as intimate and intimidating a setting as there is in the game. And the old pitcher is back in play, with his fading fastball but his history of postseason success.
The Cleveland Indians could not finish the American League championship series in the comfort of their home park, with their towel-waving, title-hungry fans to push them. Now they must beat the Boston Red Sox in one of the next two games in Fenway Park, which looks quaint until the noise of 35,000 fans descends en masse.

Indians players look on during the ninth inning of Thursday's 7-1 loss to the Red Sox.

BOSTON -- Travis Hafner drove in the Cleveland Indians' only run Thursday with a first-inning groundout. That was the good news.
Hafner committed two outs on the play, hitting into a routine double play with runners on the corners. That was the bad news, and it got worse.
He struck out in two of his next three at-bats. In the three games in Jacobs Field, he went 0 for 11 with seven strikeouts, including four Tuesday in Game 4 of the American League championship series.

Sox won't unravel

Carmona faces confident foe in Game 6

Boston- It ends here.
Tonight or Sunday night, the American League pennant will be decided at Fenway Park. The winner will play Colorado in the World Series in Game 1 Wednesday. The loser will fade into the cold pages of history.
The Red Sox trail the Indians, 3-2, in the American League Championship Series. But it doesn't feel like it. They are good at this part of the game. They calmly sent Curt Schilling back to Boston before Thursday's elimination game in Cleveland so he could get some extra rest for Saturday's start against Fausto Carmona in Game 6. They printed Schilling's stat sheet and put it in the back of the Jacobs Field press box with the rest of the quote sheets.
