Indiana Hoosiers Basketball (Dead Program)

If IU was smart, they would offer Beilein the job at whatever salary he was making when he left UM.

Beilein got millions for his failed NBA venture, is 68 years old, and has a cushy gig with the B1G Network.

He doesn't need money, so why bother with IU as he pushes 70?

Exactly.

And I'm not sure Beilein is a "plug and succeed" coach. He took ~ 5 years at scUM to get it going. It took him 3 years at WVU. He runs a particular system that he will need to build a roster for. So, he goes to IU, takes lets say 3 years to get going and he's already 71/72?

Oh my, Armaan Franklin tranferring. Franklin was one of the real positives and something to build on when he was healthy. Homestate kid. Not good for the Hoosiers.

11p, 4r and 2a on 42% 3p shooting plus a really good athlete. I’d take him in a second if everything checks out.

Yeah, if the question is what coach can bring Indiana back to being a "perennial contender" for B1G and/or NCAA Championships?

I agree, I don't think John Beilein is the answer.

Besides not needing the money, I think Belein is happy teaching “Coaching as Leading and Leading as Coaching,” a 200-level course in the School of Education at scUM. The irony here is that a 200 level class is probably above the academic ability of most scUM football players majoring in General Studies......

Always good to test your market value every now and then:sneaky:

Yeah, a school like Tennessee may be interested in him.....

Calbert Cheaney maybe? Hard to interview your school’s leading scorer and go another direction. Think they are intrigued by the Mich model.

I thought maybe they had eyes on a coach still in tourney (Muss, Oats). This would be wholly ‘meh’ imo.
