Game Thread Indiana at tOSU, Sat Oct 9, 12:00 ET, ESPN/2

Coach Tressel will be going for his 100th win as head coach in his 10 years at Ohio State in this game. If Rich Rodriguez were to continue at the pace of the last 2 years it would take him 25 years to hit 100 wins

This would be JT's 61st B10 W. RichRod is on pace to hit that mark towards the end of his 40th season. LOL

Let's not chalk up the W too soon. Yeah, we should win but our secondary is thin and Indiana will take advantage. I'm not sold on our running attack to start to say we'll win in a shoot out. I really think our D-line will need to get the pressure needed to force some bad throws (and with Tyler out, this won't be as easy as it used to). Otherwise, I think this one will stay interesting for 4 quarters.

I hope you're wrong Yertle. I hope we glide through this without any trouble. Right now we cant afford to put up the same numbers against a mediocre team like we did last week. Oregon is getting ready to jump us and we have to respond.

Hope your wrong, but I think you're right. Their strengths play directly to our weaknesses.

We win if we come out with focus and hustle and beat them player to player. They will score some points. The offense has to keep up. If the D doesn't force any turnovers, then I think it will be closer than we would like.

As I stated in the betting thread, I think dropping to a three man line would be a huge mistake, though some are calling for it. Chappell is very accurate and a soft 8 man zone is a recipe for disaster. We must hit him, hard and often. If we do that, I don't see this as a game at all

Chappell has thrown only one interception so far this year. That might change on Saturday, but he doesn't make it easy.

True, although playing against Towson, Western Kentucky, Akron and scUM helps cut down on the mistakes. Those defenses are atrocious, we don't yet know anything about how this team will respond to a solid defense.

Its another reason to love the fact that OSU schedules early season tests. We don't know everything about this Buckeye team, but we know the D forced an ample QB into some bad mistakes (Miami) dominated clearly inferior opponents(Marshall, Eastern, Ohio) and responded well to a slow start (Illinois)

All we know about Indiana and Chappell is that they take advantage of bad defenses. We'll see how they do against constant pressure from the D-line and linebackers.

Plan on an interception or two ... #5 is due for the house visit!

Keep in mind Chappel doesn't do well under pressure. Before our secondary can be exposed, they have to contain our defensive strength. Blitzing packages can also assist in taking care of this.

And our running game will be fine.

The weather forecast for Saturday is for Sun and a temperature in the mid 70s.

If TP is healthy enough to go: Ohio State 45 - Indiana 10

If TP is hampered and/or held out of the game: Ohio State 31 - Indiana 3

OK, I give, how does Pryor not playing make our defense better (i.e. Indiana scoring 3 in lieu of 10) ?
