Unless Urban plans to promote LJ or Coombs to DC, they will be looking for another DC. Urban has been quoted when he hired Schiano that he likes a 2 person system, not a dictatorship.

I mean, it's a decent sales pitch to tell a guy that he will be co dc and schiano will probably be moving on in a year, thereby making him the chief dc.

It is. I don't foresee though Urban not having Co-DCs. He, like Tress, has great success with a DC that concentrates on the front 7 while the other DC focuses much on the secondary.

I would not mind to see Billy Davis take over at LB coach and possibly co-DC. Would be a step down for him since he coached in the pros but is a great friend of Urban's. Was in his wedding and they played together at Cincinnati. He is from Youngstown which would give him Ohio connections. Probably a long shot.

Davis has NFL chops but was generally panned as a DC.

I wouldn't view it as a "step down" for him as he is currently a low paid analyst.

Regardless my concern with him isn't from a technical standpoint but rather recruiting.

He has never recruited and has little name recognition or contacts.
