what other names were being thrown out that are now out of play? Freeman is one i guess (however we dont know for sure) .. any others?

Ryan Day's interest in Jim Harbaugh's Michigan coaching staff isn't done.

Ohio State's new head coach has been rumored to have interest in Michigan linebackers coach Al Washington. On Monday, 247sports reported that Washington — who has been with the Wolverines for one season — now has a formal job offer from Ohio State as the Buckeyes are not retaining linebackers coach Bill Davis.
