Expecting 18-22 year olds to do what they are trained to do is not a "unrealistically high expectation"

You must not be reading my posts very well because that is not really what I am saying.

If I am in the ring against an opponent that is smaller, weaker, slower, and not as well-coached as I am, than I should be expected to beat his ass with not a whole lot of problems.

Who said you were well coached?

If I end up getting my ass put on the canvas a couple times and end up winning only by majority or split decision, then I obviously didn't do what was expected of me.

So by your own definition the Buckeyes have not met your expectations because they have not blown several teams out of the water they "should" have.

I'll take the 9-0 regardless of how they got there, because the best thing about being 9-0 is a chance to go 10-0.

No, they haven't met the coaches' expectations...UFM has flat out said that numerous times.

I'll always take 9-0 also, but that doesn't mean that we couldn't--or shouldn't--have gotten to 9-0 in a more impressive fashion...

ask USC if style or substance is more important.

Simply meant we should've beaten teams like UAB, UCF, Cal, Indiana, and Purdue by a bigger margin than what we did.

Braxton could have a playstation type of game on Saturday if he comes out calm and relaxed. He would have had an even better game on Saturday but he was wound way too tight in the beginning.

I'll say final score is 52-14. They will have no answer for Hyde either.

fair enough. i just try to keep in mind that the kids on the other side of the ball are on scholarship too, the Buckeyes were coming off a dismal 7-6 season, the coaches were putting in a new offense and new defense, and they got decimated by injuries on D especially. if they could have won by more, they would have.

they are what they are. we might THINK they should win more impressively, but what we think and what they actually are might not necessarily be the same thing.

that being said, on paper, this game LOOKS like a blowout. but the game is not played on paper, it's played on the field by 19 year old kids.
i THINK the Bucks should blow the Illini out by about 6 TDs. this game has all the makings of an Oregon-Colorado score.
who knows what will actually happen.

Actually it wasn't a dismal 7-6 season...it was 6-7 and horrendous is a better adjective for last year.
