Game Thread Illinois 28, Ohio State 21 (final)

I'm a little nervous about watching Benn return kickoffs for Illinois. I think he's averaging about 30 yards a return and has taken one all the way to the house this year. The kid is super exciting and the way our coverage team has looked at times...well... This is the first year in recent memory where I can honestly say our special teams has me concerned. I'm sure JT and company are hammering this home in prep work though.

The special teams will be fine, if they remember to stay in their lanes...

'Pepper' to be honorary captain Saturday

BuckeyeXtra - The Columbus Dispatch : 'Pepper' to be honorary captain Saturday

The Ohio State football team's honorary captain for its game Saturday against Illinois will be Thomas "Pepper" Johnson, an All-America linebacker who served as team captain for the Buckeyes in 1984 and '85.
Johnson played 13 seasons in the NFL and currently is an assistant coach for the New England Patriots. His son Dionte, one of the 2007 team captains, will be playing his final game in Ohio Stadium on Saturday.
The seniors will be introduced, along with their parents, during pre-game ceremonies. OSU's defensive game captain will be Larry Grant.

Honorary captain on his son's senior day. I love it! :banger:

Let's hope our guys saved their best for these last 3 games. I really do believe this team has the heart and determination this year to come out on top and silence all the naysayers. They deserve redemption. We've had to hear it all year long and now it's crunch time. They will not be satisfied until they've proven everyone wrong and I think even after doing so, they'd still have a small chip on their shoulders from all of the backlash. I believe we're ready to stick a fork in any team that stands in our way.

O-H!
