referring to Chris Martin of BTN...

I haven't caught all of his act this year...what were his comments during the Ball State game?

I've been busy and haven't been on the board much...

To answer the question, at long last, Martin was going off during the Ball State - Illinois game, guaranteeing that MSU was going to beat Ohio State.

I hope they keep this guy around. He is hilarious, albeit unintentionally.

BTN had to get someone to play the Trev Alberts role I guess.

Yes BN, I'm going to the game lol.

I'm definitely not going to be able to sleep tonight. I think I'm heading down to The Shoe around 11 or 1130. Going to catch Skull Session and then head in

Good luck today guys. I think you guys win, I just hope we can fight hard and keep it close. Here is a cool feature on our stud RB Rashard Mendenhall. Malcolm Jenkins has a little to say in the beginning.

Although why they're talking to our CB's and CB coaches I don't know. I'm hoping he doesn't make it past our LB's :tongue2:

Loudspeakers crackling inside Ohio Stadium will break the silence of obscurity like a clap of thunder announcing a storm's arrival.
New names, never before broadcast on football Saturdays, will reverberate through the Horseshoe on a two-second delay. " Seen ? seen ? senior receiver David Lisko. ? Seen ? seen ? senior long snapper Dimitrios Makridis."
Sixteen seniors, including a student manager, the majority of whom remained behind the scenes through their careers, will hear their names announced -- several for the first time.

OSU notebook: Patience to be OSU's key virtue vs. Illini

Saturday, November 10, 2007 3:51 AM

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Patience is the watchword that top-ranked Ohio State will take into a game today with Illinois, and it will pertain to the offense and the defense.
For example, Illinois likes to deploy its spread option offense, see how the defense adjusts and get a play from a coach on the sideline.
"They have a look-look scheme," Ohio State linebacker Austin Spitler said. "They're going to go out there, break the huddle, look to the sideline, the coach is going to give them a signal, then they're going to run that play.
"Basically, as a defensive unit we're going to move around and maybe make them make a wrong call every now and then against our defense."

Team focus must hurdle natural peek temptation

Jim Tressel's task this week has been to keep his team focused on the penultimate chapter of what has been a storybook season, instead of jumping straight to the conclusion.

That's no small challenge, because it's only natural for any team to look past the present to the rivalry game that is only a page or two away. For the Buckeyes, that means paying close attention to the game before The Game.
In this case, it means preparing for Illinois, not Michigan.
Tressel didn't sound overly concerned Tuesday that the Buckeyes would get ahead of themselves.

In the spotlight: Illinois RB Rashard Mendenhall

SETH PERLMAN Associated Press

Illinois' Rashard Mendenhall has rushed for at least 139 yards six times this year, including 201 yards in a win over Minnesota last week.

Illinois running back Rashard Mendenhall has left one impression on Ohio State's defense: He is a load.
Mendenhall, 5 feet 11 and 225 pounds, is eighth in the country in rushing, averaging 131.4 yards. He is the engine to an Illinois offense that leads the Big Ten in rushing with a 261.3-yard average.
"He is a great running back," Ohio State linebacker Larry Grant said. "Of course, he is going to be the best we've faced all year long, so right now he is in a category by himself. He can cut. He's got a lot of power. He's pretty fast, too."
