If defensive staff changes are coming, who should OSU be looking to hire?

I wouldn't object, but like a number of people in the LGHL article... I imagine he'd come in as just a DB coach and/or co-DC.
Whereas my idea of a "homerun" would be an out-and-out DC that takes responsibility for the defense as a whole.

Watching the National Championship game tonight, it occurred to me that Auburn's safety coach is also their co-DC. He is also African-American, which is definitely a big factor with this hire (rightly or wrongly -- I have no interest in debating it). I kinda doubt Meyer could get him out of Auburn if he wanted him, but he is an interesting possibility.

To be honest, that's fine by me. His NFL pedigree would work pretty well but he doesn't need to be a knockout recruiter when we've got guys like Vrabel, Drayton, Coombs & Fickell. X's and O's are Wade's speciality and recruiting is his weakness, the exact opposite of a couple guys I listed. I think it'd be a great balance but have a hard time thinking NFL teams won't be offering him very soon.

He has a bunch of you blue chip recruits on the roster. If he can turn them into an elite defense, then the recruiting will take care of itself. Kids dont need a lot of convincing when the results on the field are excellent.
