If defensive staff changes are coming, who should OSU be looking to hire?

I had mentioned earlier that I for one would like to see Fred Pagac come back to coach the Silver Bullets again and Dave Biddle also mentioned this as well. With Frazier and the rest of the Viking coaching staff sent packing, Pagac would be available, but from what I understand, he despises recruiting and if that is the case, then he may not be a fit. Too bad, since I believe he would be a rock solid DC. Oh well.

From coaching search website http://coachingsearch.com/coaching-search-ticker
Ohio State: Urban Meyer hired Bill Sheridan when he first got to Columbus, but Sheridan jumped ship for an opportunity with the Tampa Bay Bucs. Sheridan served as the defensive coordinator with the Bucs the last two years. With a position open again on the defensive side of the ball due to Everett Withers' departure to JMU, it will be interesting to see if Meyer reaches out to Sheridan, who could be looking for work.I

I'm surprised this thread in particular hasn't been more active in the last few days. There hasn't been much news, but there's been very little in the way of speculation too.
Kinda surprised too... there's just been a wishlist by LGHL. I haven't seen anything on the coaching search sites .... Meyer either hasn't done much (not likely) or has such a grip on the info that would make Mack Brown jealous.

Consistent with my desperation, I looked up Tampa Bay, even though I heard Jay Leno crack on them a couple times.

Tampa Bay is 17/32 in total defense and pass defense, and 15/32 in run defense.

That might work, except Sheridan resigned from tOSU once.

He resigned from being Kerry Coombs' job to be an NFL defensive coordinator. That's a positive, not a negative in my book.

My main concern about him (then and now) is that most of his positional coaching experience has been with linebackers not DBs.

I wonder what it would say about the situation if he were not brought in after being a first-choice assistant two years ago. Would it mean opinions about him had changed? That a different guy was liked better now? That Sheridan thinks he can get something better (pro) again?
