I HATE Christmas

For various reasons, not the least of which is the amount of fretting some people do over buying the "right gift". Having friends and family constantly hounding me about what I want, then getting annoyed when I don't know. Here's a little secret...I don't want anything.

Also, not being able to run into Target to get some Barq's without having to spend 20 minutes dodging the cretins in the store christmas shopping, and 20 more in the checkout line.

Bah [censored]bug.

I used to hate Christmas, but then I bought me a vintage early 60's era Evergleam aluminum Christmas tree. A little Sinatra on the Hi-Fi, an ice cold gin martini and lighting up the Evergleam and I'm in the [censored]ing Christmas spirit, baby.

I don't hate Christmas, but some of the gift giving just gets out of hand. We still do gifts with the adults on my wife's side of the family and it is just fricking moronic. Can't we just get together have dinner and a few drinks and call it good, because whatever you buy me for $20 I probably could care less about....

My wife's side of the family is the driving force here. They're all super judgmental, and you have to be careful to not get the "wrong" gift. Or too big, or too small of a gift. It's insane. So, my wife starts stressing about it by Thanksgiving, and by around this time every year, I'm totally done with the holidays and ready to burn everything to the ground. Drives me fucking insane.
