My family does the whole draw names routine as well. They still take it so seriously. I refuse. Last year I got my nephew one of those horse head masks, "Pull My Finger" the fart cd, and beer. He loved it all, of course. What's the worst your family will do? Not invite you next year? Would that even be a bad thing?

This. I would have sooo much fun with those type of in laws. Eventually her family would be afraid to open up my gifts. :)

I tell people not to get me anything and the only people I buy for are junior and his mom. If someone else gets me something, they're at a net loss and I don't feel bad about them not being able to follow directions.

Junior Seau?

He's dead.

You know what I can't stand? Is when people assume you may like or want something. Then you open it and its oh yay a gift card to a store where there isn't one within a 150mile radius. How thoughtful

I'm starting to get very annoyed with buying presents. I don't like buying gifts for every single person, but the wife just has to. And the other shoppers, don't get me started on them

Well, here they come - the office christmas presents. Why do people feel compelled to buy you minimal gifts just because you work in the same building? One joker is going around giving boxes of Junior Mints to everyone. Sure, "they're very refreshing", but seriously?

Buy ONE gift, if you buy any at all - for your boss. I report to our CEO. This is what I'm giving him:

For various reasons, not the least of which is the amount of fretting some people do over buying the "right gift". Having friends and family constantly hounding me about what I want, then getting annoyed when I don't know. Here's a little secret...I don't want anything.

Also, not being able to run into Target to get some Barq's without having to spend 20 minutes dodging the cretins in the store christmas shopping, and 20 more in the checkout line.

Bah [censored]bug.

/end rant

These are all things that don't really matter. Christmas is the day to celebrate God's greatest gift to the world, his Son, who came and lived on the earth to later die on the cross to save sinners like us.
