How many bones have you broken?

So I am sitting here in the early hours, as I always do, trolling the board, and I realized my shin bones are super bumpy and deformed. I don't know if this is normal or if I just banged them too many times with bike pedals or whatever.

I got to thinking: Am I weird? I've broken my wrists five times that I know of. A few toes too. When I broke the ligaments to my thumb the x-ray guy asked how I broke my right hand twice before: I never had it set. All my guy friends were like "bad ass!" while all my girl friends said "you're an idiot."

Cortesana constantly tells me "I'm five" and shakes her head.

So I am at at least ten broken bones, all separate times, all doing something stupid.

Who can beat me?

Edit:

The ones I can remember:

Bicycling down a hill in a race. No idea what happened, I held on to the handlebars, which hit the ground, and broke fingers. Cracked my front tooth in half which is now fake. Broke my left wrist. Slid down the hill on my face ripping the skin off. I was unconscious for a half hour or so and remember nothing.

Tried to do a double flip off a swing set. Maybe did 1 and a quarter, and landed on my face. When I tried to stand up my bone popped out of the skin on my right arm. It didn't hurt. Very weird.

Getting tackled during a basketball game. I was destroying a guy repeatedly, in a three man tournament in Cinci, and he freaked and tackled me in mid air. I still went for the shot. Fracture my elbow and dislodged my funny bone nerve. This sucked. I can still "tingle" the nerve under my elbow because it is in the wrong place.

Snowboarding. I had skated and surfed so was good right off. I decided going full speed in Straton, VT through black diamonds was a good idea. It wasn't. Broken bone.

Trying to do a "fakie," (a backwards 360) after railsliding down the building in Columbus near the river in mid downtown? I don't know what it was. . . Broken arm.

Jumping from one tree to another with one hand in my pocket and using no thumb. Not sure why I did this. I used to jump down from fir trees, two stories up, and "float" (the branches kept softening the fall) all the way to the bottom of pine needles. Fractured pretty much every bone in my left wrist. . .

Superman dive after drinking missing a flight of stairs trying to catch a delivery order. I caught myself but was going too fast. SNAP.

Jumping off a bunkbed at a guy who was treating a girl badly. I was 15 or so and at "little sibs" in Bowling Green. Broken toes. No biggie. :)

Taking a "whipper" (this means a long fall in climbing where the rope, which expands a bit, "whips" you back up) in Red River Gorge KY, trying to grab the wall, broken hand.

Um. . . off the top of my head there are a few explanations. . .

That I know of, I have only broken one bone and I didn't know about it until years later. I was at the chiropractor about my neck. He looked at my full spine x-ray and asked how long ago it was that I broke my L2. I said "I didn't break my L2". He said, "Yeah you did. Look."

Sure enough, my L2 had been broken and healed without me ever knowing it. No wonder my back hurt so damn much.

I threw a baseball playing hot box that was way off target, so the dope guarding the other base stretched out for the ball while keeping his foot on the base. Apparently he thought in hot box you could just have your foot on the base and it would count. With his leg stretched out my brother tripped over him into the steps of our house and cracked some ribs....which in turn sliced into his spleen.

So I broke my brother's ribs. Don't fuck with me.

(he did not play hockey later that day)

Ok, I have broken my right thumb 3 times, both collar bones, broken 6 ribs(4 0n the right side at the same time, which also resulted in a bruised lung, and 3 on the left side), fractured my left leg, broken toes to many to count! All of these were riding bulls except the 3 ribs on the left side. Those were broken when I his a hidden stump while riding my snowmobile.

---Had several carpal bones in my right wrist shattered by a baseball bat.

---Broke the proximal phalanx in my big toe when running down some bleachers (toe got caught).

---Broke two ribs hitting a branch while falling out of a tree.

---Broke my collarbone in jump school (didn't tell anyone because I didn't want to get dropped from the class).

---Fractured C7 vertebra (shrapnel from RPG).

---Broke left humerus (blast/shrapnel/door parts from IED).

--Broke various fingers a number of times (mostly from baseball & sparring).

Jesus Muck....I know the whole phraseology thing on the "awarded" versus "earned" term regarding combat medals. But I have to think you earned those purple hearts my friend.

Glad you survived to be able to consistently post incorrect crap on BP.

It's funny. Played hockey (pre-face masks) for 15 years, college Lax as a goalie, football and wrestled in HS, and was drunk for most of my time at OSU.

Not one stitch
Not one broken bone
Still have all my teeth
