How many bones have you broken?

Many fingers and toes...both wrists (same bone), and my L5 vertebrae.

Broke my vertebrae freshman year of H.S. and it's never felt the same since. In fact just rubbing it, it's so tender I can feel it all the way up my spine. I still have pain, and unfortunately the doctor said it most likely will never be 100% again.

Left femur when I was 2 1/2 years old.
Left hand middle three metacarpals during a basketball game. Hit a teammates hip bone trying to steal a pass and the three snapped like twig.
Right hand outside metacarpal from punching a wall.
Right foot big toe sesamoid from stress. Didn't get to play my last two highschool basketball games, because of it.

Here's what I have....
  • Left arm (radius & ulna): Was learning how to ride my bike with no hands while in the 2nd grade. Got a little sideways and down I went. It was painful from what I remember, but I was probably more scared than hurt.

  • Nose: I was trying to teach my cousin how to hit a softball in the 3rd grade. I must have been channeling my inner-Jenni Finch because he wasn't having any luck. I decided to scoot in a little closer. Bad idea.

  • Right ankle (tibia & fibula): Crashed a 3-wheeler into a pine tree when I was in the 7th grade. The scrapes on my face from the branches were more painful than the fracture.

  • Right arm (radius & ulna): While at our 8th grade mixer, a few buddies and I decided it would be a good idea to perform some stunts to impress the ladies. I ended up over-rotating a backflip I performed by running up a wall. I ended up doing a 1 1/2 and used my arm to break the fall. Literally. Not as painful physically, but it took it's toll emotionally.

  • Right elbow: I was playing SS for high school ACME team going into my sophomore year when I experienced this one. Runners on 1st & 2nd, guy hits a gapper to left-center. The guy on 2nd scores easily, but I'm determined to gun the runner on 1st down at home. I take the cut-off throw in shallow left-center and see the runner rounding 3rd heading home. I come up throwing and hear a loud pop. My throw hits 10 feet up on the backstop and I fall to the ground in the worst pain I've ever felt in my life. A part of my medial epicondyle (humerus) had broken off when I threw the ball. The pop was so loud the 3rd base coach heard it.

Ouch! I wish I wouldn't have read this one...

plantar fasciitis.
k.. not a doc by any means.. but what helps me is a tip a PT dude gave me... put a tennis ball in a long sock.. tie it at the end... when you wake up... roll your foot over the ball on the floor... will help stretch the tendon...

when BB players play with plantars fascitis ... never know how they can handle the pain and play at that level... maybe the adrenalin handles it during the game.. but the next morning has to agonizing

What purpose does the sock serve?

Yeah, I had a whole series of stretches to help with it. What finally ended up helping was a pair of custom molded inserts for both my running and everyday shoes. It still flares up from time to time, but not nearly as often or intense.
