So TSUN is not your most hated team?

My hate for nutter dumb runs deep. Besides it's hard to hate those little buggers up north too much right now seeing how they so pathetic. Don't let this fast start fool you, they're still really bad.

What about this one-

TubeChop - Final play Notre Dame vs Washington 2009 (00:22)

As elsewheres noted-

The last play of the game should have been a double personal foul for leading with the helmet: The kid was unconscious before he hit the turf? watch his arms. If this type of thing warrants league suspension (and I think it should), then certain ?independent? teams should be held accountable by the NCAA.

Yeah, not going to happen.

Are we watching the same clip? McCarthy hit the receiver with his shoulder, not his helmet. Harrison Smith clearly pushed the guy, so it wasn't him. He led with the shoulder and thats where the brunt of the attack came from. Any impact from his helmet would have been minimul and after the fact.

Hughes was down on the 2 point conversion it seems based on the whining, but Washington could have thrown the challenge flag and risk their last time out if they knew he was down. I consider the 2 point conversion a small "We're sorry" for blowing the Bush Push at ND in 2005. :)

To be honest, I've seen the PAC 10 call crummier games than last Saturday, for the most part it seemed down the middle. I didn't see a lot of ticky tacky calls, and officiating didn't keep ND in this game. Washington kept ND in that game.

To the uneducated observer, it may appear that AJ Green has just scored an important touchdown late in a game against a highly rated opponent, and in honor of that undertaking he and his team mates enjoy a few moments of celebration together.

But, this is not so. Instead, AJ Green is clearly drawing attention to himself.

That's illegal, and draws the flag.

Fuckin' SEC officials. :shake: Why didn't they just do what they normally do? Even shit up by making a tackle later in the game.

I agree that the hits on the last play were just good football.

But the overturned TD with 7:07 ledt certainly helped ND stay in the game, even if Washington should have been able to get a yard after that. The comeback would have been tougher since they would have needed two scores, but some people don't realize that they would have had 7 minutes, since so much time went off the clock before Washington finally ended up getting the FG to go ahead by 5.

It just so happens that ACC Commissioner John Swofford is a UNC graduate. This kind of officiating is getting really old...

Out of bounds within final 2 minutes of the half...stop the clock.
First down...stop the clock.

The whole game was absolutely atrocious officiating. They let facemasks go, spotted the ball 3 yards off on a play, holdings, etc...just plain awful.

I think it is a real problem in the South (well at least in North Carolina). I go to a local high school's junior varsity and varsity games each week (my son is the D-Line Coach) and there are some blantant calls each week in one or both games. Three cases in point:

1) One game the visiting team was given 5 downs instead of the normal 4 and it directly affected the outcome of the game as the team finally made the first down and went in to score the winning TD.

2) A player was called for pass interference because he engaged the "receiver" while the ball was in the air. The ref ignored the fact that the player that was engaged was the offensive guard. He could have called "ineligible down field or grounding but choose PI instead.

3) Team "A" has field goal blocked but ball crosses the line of scrimmage where Team "B" player touches ball and Team "A" recovers the ball. Should be Team "A" ball right. Not in North Carolina it went to Team "B" not because the refs didn't see the touch but in their wisdom even when Team A recovered they didn't make enough yardage to make a first down.

There are several more examples and some of them smack of downright "cheating" but most of them I believe are the refs are not up on the rules and they are in poor position to make the call......... :(

Thats a good point. I was one of the people that said "Just let them score the TD, they're taking too much time." As it turned out, and surprisingly, they had 2 series of goal line stands and it worked out better.

The overturned TD was definitly questionable. Based on the initial replay it looked like the nose of the football crossed the line, then they showed the same replay and it seemed the nose just missed the line. After going back and watching those goal line stands, the Big East got the call wrong on the replay, and the PAC 10 pulled the "Ruffing the snapper" penalty out of no where giving Washington another set of downs at the goal. That whole possesion was pretty shady officiating on both sides.

That wasn't a bad call - just a REALLY late flag from this:

The mother of horrible calls, the amazing thing is they keep going on about who touched the ball first oblivious to the fact that Oregon never recovered it. And yet, even after review, they award the ball to the Ducks.

I know that this title says "2009", but since we are bringing back a few others, thought I would throw these out there as well. Also, I noticed that a lot of the "worst calls" come from the Pac 10:

Apparently the ref STANDING next to the down player couldn't see he was - down?
