Helmet Stickers / Buckeye Leaves (all merged)

What is interesting about posting the per game leaves on the site is that you can use the results to figure out who is in the dog-house, who is ineligible, who is injured, and who is ok. Everyone on a unit gets one leaf for a win, regardless of whether they see the field, play for the scout team, or whatever, so a player not receiving any leaves for a win is suspicious.

Against Miami, OH the following players failed to earn a leaf: Cotton, Frost, Kacsandi, Parry, D. Patterson, N. Patterson, Pettrey, Ruhl, Schafer, T. Smith, Tyree, Welch

Against SDSU the following players failed to earn a leaf: Freeman, Harley, C. Lukens, Underwood

Since Tressel usually gives an injury report during his Tuesday press conference, you can figure out who was ineligible for the week based on who is left over after subtracting the injured players.

Even Haw earned a sticker against Miami, OH, which demonstrates that you essentially have to be ineligible since a player who is obviously benched for a team rules violation can still earn a leaf.

What does it say that Haw isn't seeing the field at RB? Is Wells truely better already, or does Haw not have his shit together yet?
I think osualum82 has alluded to Haw being on an "unofficial" suspension. He made it sound as if both Tressel and Haw are being a little stuborn with one another and that they both need to give in a little to put this behind us.

According to JT on his own call-in show on 1460AM -- at least after deciphering the JT-speak -- Haw was (obviously) 'demoted' after the marijuana citation earlier this summer. With Pittman and Wells securing the #1 and #2 spots following Haw's demotion, and Schnitker claiming the short-yardage role, Haw felt he was the odd man out of a suddenly crowded backfield and didn't take care of what he needed to in order to get back up the depth chart. In other words, being embarrassed and miserable after his mistake, and feeling like it was a hopeless situation to get back into the rotation, Haw gave up on himself and mailed it in at practice.

JT had mentioned (at least twice) on his call-in show, up until the SDSU game anyhow, that he had been disappointed with Haw's effort in practice. Something obviously changed after the loss to Texas though. Either Haw is seeing the window of opportunity is open for the #2 job with Schnitker developing fumblitis and Wells failing to break a big one in game situations, or something ... but Haw is getting into games -- garbage time at least -- and appears confident again.

I hope he sees it and does something about it. There's no reason BS should be toting the rock anymore. It's bad enough that he's not productive with the ball in his hands and then you factor in two TO's inside the five. We need to have another back ready. Pittman looked great last week but can he hold up over the course of the season running like that? Wells isn't an inside runner. Haw is the only other option.

So the list of injured/ineligible includes: Franzinger, Freeman, C Lukens, Robinson, and Underwood. Freeman and Lukens have been mentioned as IR in JT's press conferences, so no surprises there.

Hell, even Rehring got two leaves and he was in a hospital bed! I noticed Cordle and Nicol both earned leaves for the first time this season, so they're probably both able to participate in light drills now. :) Unfortunately, D'Andrea is still absent from the list entirely. :(

No, I have Brandon in mind. He's one of those cases alongside Frost, Welch, etc. where the grades haven't gotten to the Maupin/EJ level where they have to leave, but are in dangerous territory. This was back in winter quarter, things may have changed. As for his injuries, I believe he messed up his arm during bowl practice.

And he's a redshirt freshman.
