HC Ryan Day (2019 B1G Media COY)

Which is just a gut punch of a realization. That 2019 team damn well could've won it all and 2020 I thought showed a lot of heart and resiliency knocking the monkey off our back in Clemson. 2021 I chalked up to a bad hire. Day wiping the slate clean on the defensive staff was encouraging. But he coached a tight team all year and now we're living in the 90s again.

Not quite. To those who endured the Liberty Bowl I hope you agree.

Cooper vs Michigan:
1989: Michigan 28, Ohio State 18
1990: Michigan 16, Ohio State 13
1991: Michigan 31, Ohio State 3

1992: Michigan 13, Ohio State 13
1993: Michigan 28, Ohio State 0
1994: Ohio State 22, Michigan 6
1995: Michigan 23, Ohio State 21
1996: Michigan 13, Ohio State 9
1997: Michigan 20, Ohio State 14

1998: Ohio State 31, Michigan 16
1999: Michigan 24, Ohio State 17
2000: Michigan 38, Ohio State 26

I also wonder if Ryan Day is recruiting the wrong types of RBs to actually complement his passing game. It seems like the bruiser RB like Trey Sermon and Miyan Williams were brought in to be complimentary RBs to the homerun type RBs. We have one bruiser QB at a time and somehow they become the key to make the offense work but they go down or aren't fully healthy then there goes our consistent running game.

While I don't think Miyan Williams is a pure bruiser RB, it seems to me it would make a lot more sense to recruit his mold or closer to a RB like Trey Sermon than a bunch of homerun RBs. If you can get a guy who has the unique combo of being both like Zeke, go for it but they are far and few between.

There is so much homerun ability with the WRs but the offense really lacks that no brainer option on 3rd and short. A RB that can power through and carry defenders would compliment the passing game and possible open up alot more for this offense.

We tried to get Bijan but he stayed closer to home.

If Mike Vrabel was interested in tOSU job, I would fire Ryan Day immediately, without hesitation.

Otherwise, to me, Day gets 1 more year. Michigan will be expected to win The Game next year, for sure, but I don't give a shit. Show up next year or GTFO.

Isn't Bijan Robinson more in the mold of Zeke? I would say it's fine to go after a guy like Zeke but we should be loading up on bruisers. Go for the real strong but maybe slower RBs instead of the leaner but quicker RBs. Having the RB with the extra gear to have homerun ability is nice but it doesn't really compliment the passing game like a bruiser who can constantly pick up 4 or 5 yards.
