HC Ryan Day (2019 B1G Media COY)

Really disappointed that we're disregarding body language and instead embracing pseudo-science such as pogonology and vocal analysis. Thought this was a serious community. Let's get real.

Can't blow my cover, but I have experience watching FBI body language videos. The above is hard to look at, it's sick, really, but it's important to acknowledge 'nonverbals'. First, let's look at where Day's sitting. He's placed himself on the 2 yard line. Why? He's afraid to move closer to the endzone and score. Because what happens when we score? The drive ends, and you lose possession of the ball and therefore control over playcalling. What else is in the endzone? His opposition, but more importantly, the lights. He fears when the spotlight turns to him.

The biggest tells, though, are in his BL. Day is in what we call 'scared little baby' posture. Head bowed in fear, body starting to curl up into the fetal position, legs bent so that he can jump up at any moment and flee. And look at those thumbs. Pointed down, hidden in shame.

Compare that to the nearly dead man on the right. He's old, probably still remembers voting for Hoover, knows every catheter commercial by heart, and he sure as hell has Colonial Penn life insurance. And yet he's in the endzone, embracing the fact that his journey must conclude at some point. Compared to Day's, his posture is upright and confident, hands clasped but thumbs pointed up proudly, stretching towards heaven. Such a stark difference.

Fire Day.

Hire Dom.

Hey guys. This thread (as well as pretty much every other thread on this site, regardless of topic) is severely lacking in people sharing their thoughts on Coach Day. What do we think his odds are at taking home COTY this year?

Sorry - couldn't resist

I think Ryan has a real chance here.
I saw Ty Willingham @ ND won in 2002 and I thought ‘Ryan could be our Ty Willingham’.

(Actually, I’m not so anti-Day except for this year’s tcun game.)
