HC Ryan Day (2019 B1G Media COY)

Well this will be unpopular to say but I agree we need to lighten up. Now I think that should be the only true goal every year. However, the ridiculousness we create with that game IMO makes the team play tight and they’re playing not to lose.

Count down clocks are great, watching the previous games for lessons is great, and having the band visit it cool… but the M crossing out is stupid for example. I don’t know how it’d get done but the fans particularly need to relax about this game. When Ohio stadium cant ramp up the energy because we are more nervous than the players that’s a sign maybe we need to cool it.

Again not saying we should treat it as another game but I can tell you we are actively hurting this team by asserting pressure to what is already a very pressurized game.
Blaming fans for a team’s coaching staff put it in the worst position possible to win a game against a stinking corpse of a scUM team is the most asinine thing I’ve ever heard. OSU is a top 5 program. They draw millions of eyeballs every week. Kids are now paid to play. Cry my a freaking river. Pressure is part of the job. Urban, Tressel, Woody and Earle (for all his faults) thrived in the game. You are already waving the white flag in the game because ‘pressure’??? GTFO!! Turning into that DFBIA with this nonsense. If other fan bases jumped off a bridge, would you?
obviously yes because I'm a Cleveland Browns fan though .... all joking aside ... this is a larger societal problem that is not for this section of the message board... I get what you're saying however, this complaining about football has been around long before the internet, it's just you could more easily avoid those people.

I hear you brother. I just don't know how to do it personally. It's been baked into my DNA. And the expansion of the fucking CFP doesn't and shouldn't cause the Buckeye Nation to walk away or diminish the greatest rivalry in all of sports.
No it hasn’t and it won’t… that said this year when we lost I was numb from how unexpected the loss was for maybe 1 hour? Then boom I was back to normal and I think it’s because I knew the season wasn’t over.

So it’ll never take away how much we as fans want the game but it does take the sting away if there’s still meaningful football after.

One thing the CFP did do was I don’t GAF about the big ten title now.

Yeah and none of us can possibly imagine the pressure a fat fuck fan on a couch can apply to a bunch of 20 year old kids.

Pressure is fine but too much and will you really operate the same? Absolutely not.

If you want to win the game then some of the pressure needs to be avoided that’s not necessary.

Were there no fat fucks on couches under Urban or Tressel?

So some fat fucks on a couch are the reason they lost…again…to Michigan and will likely choke again in a big game this weekend…and not the actual coaches failing at their jobs? Got it. It’s my fault. Not Day’s fault. Not Kelly’s. I missed that block or dropped that pass or threw that pick.
Listen to yourself, man.

Soft as an overripe banana and it carries over. This offense really should’ve been a fully functioning Death Star… and Day’s supposed to be/I guess was at some point an offensive stud… and still we get beat again by some hobo Ewoks.

Howard was under-used. He should’ve been a bigger Barrett who could actually sling it a little. The first actual dual threat we’d had since Fields. Nope.

Lauded as America’s best backfield, Judkins and Henderson were under-used. They should each have been well over 1K yds and we should’ve seen breakaway runs from Henderson like his freshman year. This duo should’ve been a faster, better version USC’s Bush and White. Instead, we got… Meh. For all the yapping about Kelly being a rushing attack genius, we got, yep, Meh or worse.

Our receivers were criminally under-used. Egbuka should’ve been a 1st or 2nd team AA and all but disappeared; I’m sure not by his choice or lack of effort. Tate was given a few chances and rose to the occasion, but didn’t get more of a chance than that. Smith overachieved just because he’s a freak of nature and why we almost deliberately avoided throwing to him at the end of the season will never sit right with me.

And then he says, after shitting the bed again and causing us to fail at two of the goals we all had carved in stone and heard him yap about every week, that the goal all along was to make the playoff and then goes on about NFL wild card teams getting hot in the playoffs. How many wild card teams have won the Souper Bowl? SIX! Six since 1970. Even making that analogy is just stupid.

The goal wasn’t to back into the playoffs after being clowned by tcun and missing the B1G championship game. To even suggest that just proves my initial premise. I’d rather hear you say what we all know, that we fucked around and are lucky to even have a playoff home game and we’re going to take advantage of that and ball out like we should’ve all year.

He better unleash the hell that we know is in the WHAC and shave that fucking beard. As Steve19 referenced, it all started to go to shit when he decided that he had to prove he was a tough guy and grew the beard.
He grew the beard to cover up his Rosacea but whatever.

I agree. The "M" thing is just plain fucking ridiculous, and the fact that it's now university policy is quite frankly embarrassing. It shouldn't be just another game, but it shouldn't consumer our souls either. Unfortunately, the Columbus media will never allow it to find some balance because it's such a hype machine for their viewers and clicks.
