HC Ryan Day (2019 B1G Media COY)

I just think we all need to stop. Believe it not I agree with Steve Deace today who’s actually pretty reasonable (outside of the scandal).

He thanked buckeye fans for turning on the team mid game. I doubt he’s wrong too. He mentioned how the fans booed the team and how we were nervous once we missed the field goal and he’s fucking right.

Maybe we win that game if we stopped being fucking spoiled assholes and cheered the team. Brought them to life. Willed them to a win.

Sometimes we shouldn’t wait for a reason to cheer.

And I for one am done with this negative shit.

I think we have a top 3 team and I know we are better than that last game.
Let's. Fuckin. Go.

I choose to ignore everything negative this entire era and root like we're undefeated. What other options do I have that don't involve drinking myself to death. I came to set the earth reverberating with a mighty cheer and kill skunk weasels and skunk weasel season is over because they didn't have the guts to make the playoff and defend their scandalous fake title. Fuck them. Fuck Georgia. Fuck the CDL classification night class broncos and fuck a duck.

And then there were two…

Seriously though I am tired of this standard we have set ourselves as fans. I’m tired of being “disappointed” with 3-4 touchdown wins. I am tired of thinking we need to win every damned game. I’m tired of hearing how our coaches run themselves sick trying to live up to our unrealistic standards.

guess what everybody? We are going to lose 1-3 times every damn year so get used to it already buckeye nation! Fill the stadium and fucking WILL your team to go win a title now that there’s home playoff games.

I’ve been to great home games (Texas 2005, Wisconsin 2011 and Nebraska 2013) and I’ve been to bad ones (Cincinnati 2004 and Minnesota 2018). We are buckeyes and that stadium is 106k+ people. There’s no damn reason why it’s not impossible to win in our house. Yet it’s not as hard as we think because us fans don’t do our part. We show up expecting blowouts and god forbid if the game is close we all lose our shit (not all of us but for sure the ones who create the issues).

This is a talented team. We have everything to win it all. Would it suck to look back on 2024 and know we didn’t beat TCUN? Yep. Would it be pretty funny to take TCUNs title? Yep.

That’s exactly what this teams going to do. They’re going to win at home, beat Oregon in a rematch, and then there’s no stopping us from there.

Before you ask… no I’m sober. I’m just tired of feeling disappointed because we the fans set ridiculous standards of never losing.

At this point, an away playoff game may be good for the team.

I reminisce the Tress days when we didn’t have much expectations. Even in Meyer days, few EXPECTED to beat Bama and the ducks, or even dreamed of beating badgers the way they did.

Anyway, grit is clawing yourself out of a desperate situation when no one gave you a chance, kinda like what the other team did. This is difficult when people expect you to show up and automatically hang 60. I liked Birm, but how many times did he say just lay out our roster and dominate opponents. If only games work like that.

I’m cautiously optimistically waiting to see how the team perform in the next game.

Blaming the loss on the fans is an absolute crock of shit. And using Steve Deace as an opinion of any credibility is laughable. I was in the nosebleeds screaming my lungs out every single damn down we were on defense. A lot of fans were doing so too, desperate for the offense and special teams to do anything. That game is on Ryan Day and his staff that he assembled. Rooting for the team is irrelevant to the discussion we're having. Obviously we are all rooting for them and will continue to do so. The discussion is whether Ryan Day is the right coach to lead this program. If what you've seen has convinced you he is, so be it. I haven't seen it, and I don't see it changing. Expecting to beat that team is the standard. It boggles my mind I have to explain that to any Buckeye fan, but apparently quite a few on here have lost the plot.

I'll leave this article as a reminder: https://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio...a-rivalry-urban-meyer-final-gold-pants-speech

"You never lose to those pricks. Ever. Ever. And you work it every day. And I don’t give a shit if you’re from California or Texas or whatever, as soon as you say you’re a Buckeye this is part of your life for the rest of your life - and you don’t lose to those pricks. You beat them every day. Every day."

Lets set the clock back to about 3:30 pm on November 30, 2019. That's the last time we've, as fans, tasted victory over those pricks. Could you imagine a scenario where we'd go 5 calendar years without a win in The Game, losing 4 straight? FOUR. What the fuck are we even talking about? I'm sure Ryan Day is a fantastic person, a great husband and father, and probably a great guy to be friends with. But I don't want him as the HC of my favorite team. That's the cost of giving comfort to that shitbag, dirty-ass program up north for four straight years. Fuck this shit.

100%. Similarly, I remember leaving AT&T Stadium in 2015 after watching us win our last title with a good buddy from growing up, and if you would've told me then that a decade later we still wouldn't have won another I would've called you crazy. We were about to return an absolutely stacked team, Urban had things firing on all cylinders, and I was young and didn't appreciate just how hard it is to win these things. Injuries, wrong end of a bad ref's whistle, rockstar assistants who graduate to become head coaches elsewhere - there's so many things that can pull you off track and the margin for error is so small. You can't afford to have repeated, self-inflicted disasterclasses like this past weekend, the 2022 game, and the Georgia 4th quarter meltdown when you have the talent and the other pieces line up. He's gotta go.

One thing I dont blame Day for is how he responded to all the postgame BS. He was in a no win situation. If he does nothing he doesn't look great. If he gets in the middle of everything and gets involved in a fracas he'd be criticized. If he makes his team get off the field and Michigan turns midfield into a discotheque that's not going to go over well
I blame him for ALL of the post game BS. It was his bullshit game plan that let the team down in the first place. And then, when the post game bs went down, he stood there and watched it like a dumbfounded dipshit and asked what happened.

Forget the flag planting and subsequent brawl. That wasn't what happened. What happened was that he took a clearly superior team and managed to come up with the only game plan that all but guaranteed a loss.

No kidding lol it cracks me up people acting like we got out coached. Our coaches tripping over their own dicks and doing stupid shit does not = Sherrone and Co "outcoaching" them, scUM ran the same gameplan they have literally all season, the one that had them at 6-5 and Day decided to try to prove something by playing right into their only strength.
Tripping over your own dick and doing stupid shit is bad coaching. Trying to prove a point by playing into your opponent's hand is bad coaching. No one is saying that Moore had some master game plan. He didn't. He just did what he does. The reason Moore out-coached Day is self evident.

That's been the case all season but I gotta say it's not *just* a play call sheet. It's probably different/various special teams, probably the base defense and offense packages, etc, plus (probably) a few play scripts they want to emphasize.
Gtfo. Special teams??? Have you not watched this guy? Special teams doesn't exist in his mind.

Steve Deace is an Iowa kid who went to Sparty, yet sniffs scUM's jock at every opportunity. Fuck that guy.
