I'm feeling about as positive about everything as i possibly could given the results of the last 2 games.
And that's not being sardonic or my typical cynic.
I'm weirdly feeling pretty positive about it all... and im not sure how to square that with the results from last year.

"Every year you learn and you grow," Day said. "There’s still so many things we do that we did five years ago, but there’s a lot of things that we’ve changed and had to adapt," Day said. "So you just have to be yourself. I heard that from a bunch of folks when I was named the head coach here, is like, ‘You’re not Urban Meyer, you’re not Chip Kelly, you just gotta be you.’ Now you can take the things that you’ve learned from them and put them to work every day, but as time goes on, it becomes yours more and more. So, still a lot of things in the program that are things that I learned from the coaches that I worked with before, but a lot of things we’ve had to change to adapt with the times.”

“I think back on this year and our rivalry game,” Day said. “You want the game so bad that the focus can just be on winning the game, but what does winning the game actually mean? You can’t just win the game. You have to win each play. You have to win each situation. I think the mistake I’ve probably made is, 'We’re going to win this game. Let’s get after them. Let’s get physical. Let’s beat them up.' When you’re playing a team or a player that’s equal to you, you have to focus on winning every single possession, every single play. And how do you do that? Great technique, great focus. Eventually, you will win the game."

Having your defensive coordinator not lose his mind and go full blitztard in crucial situations might help too but hey, let's count our blessings here. It's only taken Day 5 years to figure out the old "one play at a time" thing.
