HC Ryan Day (2019 B1G Media COY)

I can honesty see the run blocking improve with the new faces starting, especially with Fryar at RT. The pass blocking is where we could really take a step back losing PJJ, Wypler and Jones. Could be TEs staying home more and backs helping out a lot more this season which changed the Offense some at least early on. Hopefully the run game improvements more than make up for it

I’ve had exact similar thought to this….especially if we roll with guys currently on team.

I could see the inverse of what happened in 2021 where we had too many tackles along the offensive line and we weren’t nearly as effective as a unit as the talent would’ve predicted. Between NPF, Munford, Wypler, PJ, and Dawand….you’d have thought we’d destroy teams wihh the our o-line but they were kinda soft to be honest.

I wonder if we roll with some combination of Tshabola, Jackson, Jones, Vimahi, Fryar…….part of me thinks they might be a bit nastier in the run game. Maybe it’s just wishful thinking…..

I agree with you at least.

We are also going to be more downhill than ever now too. Coach Fry will diversify our run game much more so its going to be much harder to get a read on what we want to do.

I don’t see Day ever going to the 4 OT OL again. Especially with the OL room having more IOL leaning players. LT will be a battle for a long while. But Fryar at RT, and another talented battle at RG. VimAhi is good, but Hinzman was a hard fought battle against Wisky for a reason
