it’s ignorant coaching. Day gets a fetish over the WR screens and long developing outside runs and keeps running them even though they almost never work.

The attempts to go really fast after a big play are always awful too. Most of the time it results in a penalty or negative play. But keeps going right back to it.

His offense had 3 chances in the first half to extend a lead to 2 scores - completely changing dynamic of the game.

2 at 10-3 Buckeyes and 1 at 20-17 before half. They did not capitalize.

And then a full 2nd half fail. 3 and outs all 3rd quarter. I do not get his stubborn ass forcing a horizontal passing game. He’s gone soft on aggressive playcalling and 4th downs too. Things get tough and they turn to mental midgets.

And I wonder what’s wrong inside WHAC that he’s let creep in and if he can clean it out. Is OSU just a corporate football factory now? All good when things go well.

Problem is Ryan Day is better than 98% of college coaches so who else do you get. i like him. I want him to work. He gets another year but the mentality has to change and he has to beat TTUN. I worry if he hasn’t already shown us who he is.

You are probably right. I don’t want you to be, though. My appreciation for Day as a person is probably clouding my opinion right now.

These guys don't give up playcalling unless they're forced to. And when they're forced to it's usually prior to getting fired.

The only ones that give up playcalling are the ones that see the overall big picture and I don't think Day is at that point yet.

Day seems like a helluva guy and says all the right things. But he's lost more games to scUM in the last 12 months than the previous 2 head guys did in 17 years. Last Saturday on November is what you're graded on. Day is failing badly.
