HB Dontre 'DeSoto' Wilson (Official Thread)

Except that game wasn't a fluke. MSU beat us plain and simple.
It's not that they got lucky to win that particular game. It's a fluke historically. Based on both programs history and future, it's a fluke. I mean, does anyone actually believe that Sparty will sustain their recent success beyond Dantonio? I don't think there's a question that tOSU will remain a strong program after Urban.

Right, and while I think Sparty did get lucky in the sense that tOSU didn't run Hyde more often and the D was not up to Buckeye standards. I can't speak for @Bestbuck36 but i don't think he meant "fluke" in the same way one would say Buster Douglas beating Iron Mike was a fluke

What difference does it make Mark Dantonio is only 58; he'll' probably be at MSU for another 10 years or so. You are asking if they will be any good "In The Year 2525".

To answer your specific question: MSU was pretty good back in the 60s with a coach named Duffy Daugherty. Every so often they get lucky and hire a pretty good coach. Who knows they could get lucky again with another coaching hire after Dantonio.

I wouldn't be surprised to see narduzzi stick it out at D coordinator as the coach in waiting and have a fairly seemless transition. He probably wouldn't stay 10 years, but if they throw a million a year at him and he develops an attachment to the program he might stick it out 6-7 years. There are some coaches that once they find their spot, they don't leave. Dantonio is one, he built up the program to a perennial top-25. Narduzzi may start to feel the same way when school start calling him to be HC in a few years.

Sucks not being full strength no that JT is out. Just makes the loss of DeSoto even more pronounced. I was really looking forward to seeing him burn it on that indoor field in Indy. Any idea how likely he will be back for a bowl game? I mean, is it a longshot or a real possibility?
