HB Dontre 'DeSoto' Wilson (Official Thread)

Just watched it - after his touchdown around the 12:00 min mark of the 4th quarter, his is slinged out of bounds into the media - he gets up but isn't bouncing around, doesn't look to be seriously injured.. but doesn't look great after that tackle. After MSU scores, Samuel is back returning kicks. Not sure if it happened there, and I don't have the time to watch the rest of the 4th quarter yet.

I will have to watch that replay again. The above sounds similar to what happened to Ted Ginn in the game with the Gators,(2007) after he scored the return TD on opening play. Rest of team piled on the end zone, but I did not notice that Ginn was hurt that badly. He played some in the 1st quarter but in the 2nd quarter he wasn't seen much after that.

No, what happened to Ted Ginn was due in large to Roy Hall jumping and tackling him.

Big bummer for sure, he holds a lot of the defenses attention...I have no doubts Jalin will step up in his absence, but part of the reason both are so effective is because defenses have to account for both guys. Maybe we can utilize Samuel and Jalin at the same time, though UFM said that Noah Brown, Corey Smith, and Vannett are the ones likely to be deployed.

Urban said "at least a few weeks"...so best case scenario he is back for the B1G game (that would be awesome) and hopefully for the bowl game/playoffs. Really hope he can return for the B1G game though, we could really use him then. But the topic nobody has brought up is who will Hoke scheme to attack after a play and draw ejections from this year with Dontre out?

I don't think Dontre Wilson was targeted for that play. I think they were looking to get anyone out of the game - Dontre Wilson just happened to be the guy returning the kick.

Dontre happened to be the guy returning the kick because dontre was our freaking kick returner. It didn't look like they were trying to get him kicked out if the game as much as it looked like they were trying to intimidate and beat the shit out of him. Now I am remembering that play and I'm pissed. That fucking team is just a bunch of thugs. No better than those in Tallahassee. I can't wait till thanksgiving.

I'm saying that I don't think they said, "Let's get this guy - Dontre Wilson!! F that guy!!!111!!" I think they went after the Buckeyes, trying to send a message, thug-style. Maybe they targeted Wilson, since he's smaller than most guys on the team. I don't think it's a coincidence that it happened in front of Ohio State's bench - more likely that OSU players would come off the bench to get involved, maybe ejected. But it's pissing me off, too. Let's run these thugs out of Columbus in a few weeks.

They converged immediately in unison with large numbers. Perhaps it was random but it certainly did not appear that way.

On a fun sidenote, it sure looked like a spartan special teamer was laying on top of Dontre and giving him the business after one of his returns (I believe it was after he fumbled).

FWIW, here it is again:

It looks to be premeditated and/or orchestrated by scUM to me; and I agree Dontre just happened to be the guy on the return. However, everyone can draw their own conclusion.

It worked for scUM too, we lost 2 starters and they lost a backup linebacker.

I hope urban shows them that video before the game. I want to see the score blow up 60+ to a goose egg!
